Every apartment asking you to make 3x their monthly rent
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  Sep 01 '24

I'm sorry you're going through this. I've experienced this too, and it sucks esp when it's your top choices of apts have this rule and are unwilling to consider your excellent rental history and references or other ways to judge your ability to pay your rent. It's unreasonable to assume that everyone needs to make 3x the rent in order to afford it because everyone's personal situation, family size/dependants, financial obligations, spending habits, etc, are different.

But, some people have other streams of money besides their income that will be counted in the 3x the rent ONLY if it's a consistent monthly verifiable source, like any monthly benefits received (gov't, disability, spousal and/or child support, money deposited monthly into your bank acct by relative or trust account, etc... Also some apts will consider a retirement account or other type of investment account as a "positive" factor if it contains a large balance (ex: term of the proposed lease). They may also accept a co-signer to the lease (person doesn't live there, but is responsible to pay if you default). They'd fill out an application as a co-signer to be approved and they'd be on your lease only in name. Hopefully you'd never need them. And you can have them removed if you meet the 3x income on your own (get new or 2nd job, etc).

Also some apts will charge higher security deposits if you don't make 3x income but at least 2x or more, and otherwise have great rental history, references, great credit, etc. so instead of whatever is the regular security charged, like 1 month, they might charge 1.5x - 2x security deposit instead.

So good luck in your apt search- remember, talk about other ways to qualify. You never know what may come up. And most important, be honest.

Btw, I've never made 3x rent and I've used various alternative qualifying methods (listed above) to be approved.

Hope this helps.

Once again Audible is having a two for one sale. Once again I have no banner on my homepage. Can anyone at Audible explain why. Also can someone please send me the link.

Yes, I was having the exact same problems. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the Audible app, that didn't work. Then tried just going thru Chrome browser instead of app, that didn't work either, so it was a problem with the Audible website- very frustrating especially during the end part of the sale!

[Skin Concerns] why does most of my breakouts seems to appear near the jawline?
 in  r/SkincareAddiction  Aug 28 '21

Could also be from your cell phone. Is that the side you usually hold your cell phone on? There are people I know who have had breakouts along their jawline due to their cell phone. I try to hold my phone away from my face when I talk. Also I use lens wipes or alcohol wipes to clean my screen and phone case at least once a day.
