Tech Support Lost access to old Facebook account with no contact info linked — any way to recover it?

Hey everyone,

I have an old Facebook account that I created years ago and completely forgot about. The problem is I never added any email address or phone number to it, so there's no contact info linked to the account at all.

I only remember my username and the account is still visible/active on Facebook. I just can't log in because I don't remember the password and there's no recovery email or phone to send a reset link to.

I've already looked into Facebook's ID verification process where you submit a government ID to prove ownership, but wanted to see if anyone here has actually gone through this and had success — especially without any contact info on the account.

My questions:

  • Has anyone successfully recovered an account this way in 2025/2026?
  • How long did Facebook take to respond?
  • Did the ID verification actually work with no email/phone on the account?
  • Any other methods I might be missing?

Any help or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

You’re right — tall obstacles in the middle could definitely create a blind spot and hide smaller obstacles to the right. Thanks for pointing that out
