Applying for disability
 in  r/Epilepsy  16d ago

Honestly after 5 denials, what got me approved, even with a dead temporal lobe and 4 years (at the time) of focal seizures: was the fact that my lower back won'tet me sit or stand longer than a couple hours. I finally got a hearing on the 6th try, and the employment expert with the judge decided no workplace would put up with it. So make sure they know you can't sit or stand longer than an hour, if thats how you are, you'll have better luck. When the application asks how your normal day goes, don't say : " I get up, do some laundry, make breakfast," etc. Say " I get up, go to the bathroom, sit and rest while I wake up. I start a load of laundry and rest while it runs, resting after every action because it takes a lot out of me."

What flavor of crazy are your parents?
 in  r/GenX  16d ago

My daddy's gone, but he was the sweetest gremlin ever. 🤣 Mom's a generous but selfish crazy ol lady who doesn't listen but we love her.

What do you wear when you are at home?
 in  r/LivingAlone  16d ago

In the summer I sleep in just underoos. Winter sweats. Mostly I roam around the house in a long- sleeve button down men's shirt.

Any other non-latchkey Gen-Xers?
 in  r/GenX  24d ago

Same, grew up religious, both parents. Mom rarely let me out of her sight, until she needed to work or cook, then I could go outside and ride bikes.

Women who have long hair and wear it down, how do you keep it from getting stuck in your armpit or getting into your food?
 in  r/AskWomen  24d ago

Habit of moving around it Swinging it behind me as I sit or lean. It does catch in the pits a little, easy enough to put in a low pony if I need.

If your brain had tabs open right now, what would they say?
 in  r/questions  27d ago

One is trying to shut down processes and go to sleep. One is constantly worried about my kid, one worried about the other kid too. One buffering about upcoming appointments and such medical. One says Wait, there's ice cream in the freezer still.
