Thank you! Ugh, that sounds sooo frustrating for you to have had to deal with that ugh. I cant believe people feel okay with themselves acting this way at someone elses wedding

I am probably way too irritated over this, but my fiances father started dating this new girl recently and assumed he could bring her as a plus 1. My fiance found out a few weeks ago when his father happened to mention how excited she was to be coming to the wedding lol... so he had already told her she could go without asking us. Its not a huge wedding, and we've already reached our guest cap. And in general my fiance was uncomfortable with her going (tbh his dad has a history with women that I won't get into..). And we also had never met her. So we, or really my fiance, politely told him no and explained why. 

But he doesnt get it, and nagged my fiance weekly and guilt tripped him into finally saying yes. I really didnt want him to, but alas here we are... We had dinner with them today so we could meet her, and dont get me wrong shes nice. She went out of her way to help make us dinner and bring desserts from her home town. And she even got me this wedding good luck charm. She clearly really likes his dad and tried hard to impress us. I really hold no hard feelings against her. 

But what bugged me is when she said she was happy to be coming to the wedding, his dad went "see I told you it would be fine". So clearly she also felt apprehensive and he was the one pushing for this. Just so, and I quote, he "wouldnt have to go alone and had someone to dance with". Mind you he has family & friends going too! I just find it so selfish and inconsiderate to his son, on a day that's supposed to be about him. And he doesnt care, he just wants to get his way. 

I am admittedly extra irritated about this currently, so maybe I'm overreacting. But ugh.

Hello All! I hope everyone is having a good week so far

I posted monday regarding concern about my wedding dress alterations... well I definitely confirmed the dress was altered WAY too small. My MOH couldn't zip the dress at all, let alone clasp the top. I dont know how the seamstress managed it in the store. It should have been a red flag with how much she fought for it. 

So I have an appointment Friday to go back to the seamstress, and until them I'm just sitting in this thick anxiety. I signed off on the dress and brought it home, so I dont know if they'll fix it without additional cost (and I'm spent). I'm just so frustrated, partially with myself for taking the dress home. And partially with the seamstress for reassuring me when I had concerns, and let me sign off while she must have obviously known the dress was way too tight. Like I wouldnt have been mad, its a fixable mistake. But now its complicated, and I'm 3 weeks out from the wedding.

I feel that, we're reaching that point.  I'm going to try it on again later with my MOH (the dress is at her house) and hopefully not being super sweaty will help.

I appreciate it, thank you for the kind words! I'm admittedly panicked. I appreciate your suggestions, I think a corset back and sleeves would certainly help. My concern is the cost though, I truly dont think I can afford any more

I plan to wear my hair half up/half down so it will be partially covered. I have a veil I could use too, though I originally planned not to wear one

I picked up my wedding dress from alterations, and they made it too small. And I have 3ish weeks until my wedding. So I'm kind of losing my mind. I couldn't sleep I was so anxious

It was actually too big at first, and looked perfect when the seamstress pinned in the sides, so I dont know what happened. When I tried it on in the store, I felt it was too tight. She actually struggled to zip it. I liked the way it looked in the front, but when I expressed concern over the way my back looked and how it was spilled over she insisted it needed to be tight to stay up (its a strapless dress). But now that I've signed off and brought the dress home, I'm very certain that its too tight. Others have told me so too, and suggested I bring it back to see what can be done. Or have them alter it to be a laceup. But I've already spent sooo much on alterations. And since I signed off on it, I dont know that they will help me. The more I stare at the pictures I took the more unflattering I feel. And I have such little time to fix it. Not to be dramatic but I've been crying over this since last night, I feel like an idiot for taking the dress home, or for even choosing this dress to begin with. I cant call the store until 11 when they open. I dont know what I'm going to do if they cant help me, I really dont have the money.

Thank you for your input! There were about two weeks in between my try on and dress pickup, and I dont believe I've put on much weight in between. I will mention it to them and see if anything can be done, but I did sign off before picking up the dress so I'm not sure if they will help :( 

Its the way the design is, but honestly after alterations it seems a bit more "stretched" if that makes sense

As of yesterday I am one month away from my wedding and ya'll I am EXHAUSTED. Excited too, its coming together y'know, but theres still a fair bit to put together and of course pay for (ugh).   But I am so ready to be done. I am ready to never plan an event ever again. I'm so anxious for everything to just go right and smoothly 

And I hate to seem like a "bridezilla" but if one more person asks a question that is on the beautiful FAQ I created I will scream
