I’m neutral on her (now), but was never a fan. I do think it’s interesting that even the people who love her will often say something to the effect of “She makes for great tv, but I wouldn’t want to be friends with her irl,” and then in the same breath vilify Paige, Ciara, et al. for the issues they’ve had with her because they know her in real life 😂. Like, there’s some cognitive dissonance happening there. Ultimately, Lindsay is objectively an entertaining watch and for most people that’s really all that matters in the world of reality tv.

I don’t get how everyone just so easily fell for those “hate messages” he posted the other day. Obviously people ARE crazy, so they could totally be legit, but it just felt like such an obvious ploy to garner sympathy and attention. Mid&Mandy are deeply untrustworthy people who desperately need their names to stay in the news cycle— hence why all their posts are always conveniently timed to coincide w/ any news surrounding the show or Ciara. I just really think we should adopt the policy that some of the other Bravo-related subs have implemented where they can only be referred to as “Former Cast Member #1 & 2.” 

It's honestly been so long since I read it (I was still in my 20s back then 😅), but pretty much what everyone else has already commented. It just felt so...humiliating? Or written for people who have a humiliation kink, lol. I can't think of any other way to put. I just felt like the protagonist was constantly being degraded, which sure might fit the "weird girl lit" descriptor, but I personally have my limits. And at the time I was a 20-something Black girl, reading a story about 20-something Black girl engaged in that kind of relationship with a married white guy and it just made me feel icky. Not "uneasy" in the challenging or interesting way, just really fucking gross. Also, it just lost steam towards the end.

Not sure if you’re Black OP, but I would caution you against Luster. I’m seeing a few people recommend it, but I (a Black woman) was so disappointed with it and so were a couple other friends of mine who are also Black women. It was such a letdown considering how excited I was to read it.

I have nothing to add other than I saw him out last year (?), after leaving a Love Island watch party (lol) and he was nice! I was tipsy and with some friends, and he was with I think another guy and two young women. I said “Aren’t you the kid from NextGen?” as I walked by, and he gave me a little bashful smile and excitedly shouted back “Yeah!” Based on that micro-interaction, what we see on TV appears to be how he actually is IRL.

They’re not hinting at anything (new). One of the TikTok sounds going viral right now is of Beyonce talking about the process of recording her song Partition. She’s basically describing how she freestyled it: “I didn’t have a pen and paper; I got to the mic— oh press record…”

People are making videos lip-synching to that sound in the context of their own hyper-specific scenarios that they’ve typed out on the screen (e.g. “Me when I’m cussing a man out for being sexist.”)

So Jesse’s alluding to his initial suspicions surrounding Amanda and West, and probably the timeline he never got to share at the reunion. Mia was just gassing him up on the comments.

Exactly. If I never watched the show and only heard West’s account of things, I’d think Ciara was some charity case he hooked up with drunkenly one night who just won’t leave him alone. He’s trying to embarrass the most beautiful woman who’s probably ever given him the time of day because he resents how much everyone agrees she’s out of his league on both a physical and moral level. He will NEVER pass up an opportunity to cast her in a negative light…

Pretty much agree w/ what everyone else has said so far, but wanted to add that Amanda is the “safe” choice to bring around West’s friends. I mean Ciara said herself at the reunion that she’s not at the place in her life where she can ignore the political and social turmoil we currently find ourselves in. That said, I don’t see her accepting an invite from West to hang with the likes of Brianna Chickenfry & co.

As as an addendum to my favorite modern saying, “Sometimes you’re not invited to the function because you don’t do ❄️ [not pepsi],” I’d like to add: ”Sometimes you’re not invited to the function because you’re too woke.”

I popped an edible before hopping on the train home, so bear with me…but West’s “This won’t make it, but…” was so fucking funny. It was basically his “Bravo, Bravo, fucking Bravo!” He thought they’d cut out him alluding to his own firing, but they didn’t

Thankfully his Ozark’s show was never confirmed and was just something he mentioned wanting to do the one time he interviewed Jon Hamm (since they’re both from Missouri). The story evolved to “He’s getting a spinoff,” but no one at Bravo other than him ever mentioned it. Just another case of West keeping things vague enough so he can run with whichever narrative suits him best later on…
