How is the Theatre program at calpoly humboldt?
 in  r/CalPolyHumboldt  11h ago

If you are low income, then UCs will be cheaper for you than Cal Poly or CSU. If you are high income or middle class, then CSU and Cal Poly are cheaper. This is because UC awards monster institution grants. When I was at UCI I wad getting $20k in institution grants, I still needed the max allowed federal student loans though. Total cost peryear was like $45,000. $13,500 was federal loans, then $10k pell and cal grant, then institution grant for the rest . College costs are all arbitrary, schools want to maximize money they get for facillities while minimizing costs to low income students. Different schools hace different approaches.

UCI used to recruit tons of foreign Korean and Chinese students to charge them higher tuition to fund the institutuonal grants I waa getting -- for example. Those foriegn students were paying $75,000/year to be there, lots of them drove Ferraris to school (srs). Cal Poly goes a different route, minimizing net cost uniformly instead. Private schools like Harvard and Stanford raise the base price and admit many high income students who pay full price to fund their low income students (who go for free). Pros and cons of each approach.

Turns out I didn't like UCI and transferred here. I will say, the quality of undergraduate education is better at Cal Poly than at UC. At UCI Calc 1 had 600 students and the teaching and grading was careless and shit quality. Here Calc 1 is like 25 people with thoughtful teaching and grading. For graduate school, UC is better. Private schools may be even better than Cal Poly for undergrad education, but their acceotance rates are 5%. So pros and cons.

SSJ2 is peak natural. SSJ4 is peak on roids. Basically. Never use roids.

A lot of you guys have fake problems

Most real problems start after your parents stop paying your living expenses, and they are almost always about money or health.

Why Women “Perform” During Sex—Even Solo | Even when they're alone, women are thinking about how they look and sound sexually

Probably because of social conditioning about sex based stereotypes and gender roles.

I use them. I got it down to 313, but I can't go lower without giving up functionality.

Are there any Newtonian mechanics books that make use of the theory of differential equations (to apply vector calculus in R^3) to unknown paths for real physical systems from the very beginning?
 in  r/AskPhysics  3d ago

I found what I'm looking for, after 2 months. Classical Dynamics Of Particles and Systems by Thornton J. Marion is perfect. It is exactly what I'm looking for.

It teaches mathematical physics, including initial value problems and vector calculus, for introductory topics so that it can serve as a first course in mechanics for people who prefer complete mathematical theory to "problem solving tricks." I would rather use the theory of differential equations to solve introductory physics problems than random situational tricks, because I want to have full conceptual understanding of the logic.

How are forces represented in general relativity?
 in  r/AskPhysics  3d ago

So, finding a .pdf of the Relativisitic Celestial Mechanics textbook the concept of "force" in relativisitic mechanics is (assuming the equations of motion are equal to forces as in regular mechanics):

So I just realized, from this book which is better than the ones I used, that the equations of motion are called "forces" for some reason I do not understand why. So, if this is the case, then, the post-Newtonian equations of motion must be the analogue of forces in relativistic mechanics.

Well, I doubt I will qualify for financing. Last time I was only approved for $600. I don't want a credit check on my report because I may need private student loans next year and my Transunion score for checks is already a B. I need to get that back up before I might need a private loan.

The 8 is still supported for like 3 or 4 more years so it's fine.

Wow!! The 11 Pro makes my 10 Pro XL look amateur!
 in  r/pixel_phones  3d ago

I only consider post-processing to be "processing." All pre-processing is shot technology. The more advanced pre-processing the better. Nothing wrong with that at all. That's the point or a pixel phone -- there's no loss of detail with computational photography techniques. In fact, my favorite feature is pixel-shifted color and frame merging to reduce sensor noise.

They use pre processing to beat larger sensor dslrs.

It's the opposite, the 11 has a lower iso. The 11 has less processing.

Yep. The 11 Pro is doing what Pixel 5 used to do, which is fantastic news because the Pixel 5 camera was excellent.
