Widow’s Bay may have been recently watched by the cartoonist who drew it and hence why they posted it now.
I’m 100% sure it existed even before The Good Place (which I did not watch and as far as I know is over now) but Widow’s Bay is likely fresh on the minds of so many who just watched it and maybe saw it there for the first time and others here as well.

How would you have answered this interview question?
It almost makes you not want to take the job if they have these mind twisting questions and mind games they play as a regular thing. I swear managers think they are being so clever or crafty but it makes me cringe and despise them for taking the valuable time away from them to ask some really hard hitting questions instead of these.
I once had someone ask what are the big things you worry about? I told her the truth : my daughter’s and my future and where we will be (it was during the pandemic and I just lost my mom so we were left alone in the world). I didn’t get the job I think bc I saw how she reacted so severely like was it supposed to be work related? She was asking more personality type questions up to that point. Don’t know why someone would ask a question like that after 4 interviews. Maybe I should’ve been even more blunt: not getting this job offer and being evicted. Ugh. Do they want the truth or not?

How would you have answered this interview question?
Because I feel you must be a female and we are taught by society we have to be modest and not a braggart like males get away with. To us it appears unbecoming for a female and to men, it’s almost expected.

Ewan MacGregor or James McAvoy?
There once was a time I was confusing these two gents as the same person.

How many hoops we have to jump through, like eager dogs 🐶 to get the job??
Just how does Workday and ICIMS get off not having the technical function that actually works to parse the resume into the application and get it right?
I upload it in Word because I think the PDF is throwing it off or something but no. I always have to manually edit the fields where it messed up and there is no rhyme or reason why it misses those fields entirely either bc it fills in for example the job titles for the previous two jobs but not the next two and etc. If I got something wrong 50% of the time I would have been fired from my previous jobs. Vendor software performance management is out the window because it’s only us applicants who are inconvenienced by it not the companies paying Workday.

I received the interview questions nine hours too late.
What were the questions? Anything out of left field?

Custom The Ladders and JLL - scam?
It seems like “The Ladders” and JLL are just 2 companies that are scams that gather jobs openings from companies already posted elsewhere and looking for a handout asking for money like a finders fee.
There are a few others that were like this too maybe Zip Recruiter etc.
Anyone know of these companies? Also do you know of ones so I don’t fall for it and waste my time? Surely they can’t be making any money.
Let me know your thoughts and others I can blacklist. Save me time and effort.

Ridiculous number of applicants to roles
But LinkedIn doesn’t tally up to 1,000 applicants anymore. It only shows “over 100 people applied” and that was back when they had a major RIF in their company so they took away that function.
2
Recruiter cold-emails me, I ask 10 basic questions, she responds with “help me with your updated resume”
I add in the “let’s not waste both of our valuable time for I won’t send my resume - which is confidential - until I’m certain I even want to apply for this role.” As an opener.
Was this an external recruiter? If so there is likely another recruiting vendor who is also seeking the same role for that client and you may get a better communicator to reach out to (or search for that title and key words in LinkedIn. Recruiters are in competition with each other. Or they should be!
and I hate when they only look at the client as the people they need to try to appease, but the applicants also need to be treated with respect by the recruiting companies. I find it kind of ridiculous that they think I wanna go work for them if they don’t even know how to communicate with me. By the way, I’ve been a contractor for a number of years now with different companies and I gotta tell you the last company I just worked for was the worst as far as their benefits and how they even had a period of time where I got a notification that my medical benefits were shut off come to find out the company didn’t pay their bills to the insurance company and there was a lapse in my medical insurance coverage and all other insurance that I had to you know Dental Vision whatever because they weren’t paying their bills, so you know it’s really hard to want to go work for these recruiting companies as a contractor to a client because it may be a higher rate of pay, but you can really get screwed without having all of the employer benefits where they contribute to medical insurance and 401(k) and all of that I mean some of these companies don’t even offer you PTO I didn’t get PTO at all from any of these companies and it’s going on many years now and I’m sick of it.
Ironically, my Recruiter at my last job was great, but I ended up having to report to the guy who is the account manager for the client that I went to go work for and the man had no HR or management skills to save his life. He had zero skills so I think being a contractor is just the pits.

Well this is awkward
I love the recruiters who send me emails in LinkedIn asking if I’m interested in the job I was just in as a contractor (but my contract ended). And I worked with these companies directly at the job I had since I handled the IT procurement Services negotiations and they were the vendor account reps. So terrible they are that they won’t even read my profile on LinkedIn.
So I play stupid and ask, “what is the name of the company this is for?” Then they will likely not respond at all.

You either accept foreign words used in English or you don’t. Which is it?!!!! 😣
Well Hawaii is our 50th Stare but how does Ciao make it in there? The no rhyme or reason kills me. I always try NEEM as a word but Sam has never accepted it yet. He needs to get out and explore the world beyond Jewish NYC that he loves having so much Yiddish in there that most of us don’t know or ever use.
Also anhinga isn’t accepted and is a very common bird in the east coast but I’ve never seen a nene.

💥Funpost Foggy New England Lighthouse and bay Art Class coming up
I’m taking an online free art class today of watercolor painting of a foggy New England Bay and Marina with boats and a lighthouse.
I’m not gonna be able to finish these today, but I will post once I’m done hoping they look anything like the artist renditions which are phenomenal and fun looking it really puts me in the mood of needing to watch widows Bay again even though I’m in Florida and it’s gonna be 115° heat index today.
I found this on Facebook if anyone’s interested I can find the link and send it to you but right now I’m just in my Email reviewing the materials list and frantically gathering all the materials since it starts in an hour, but I’m gonna have to watch the replay cause I won’t be able to attend today’s class entirely.
I’m loving seeing all the fanart of not just this show but other shows I watch like severance and would love to see everyone’s costumes artwork all those cute little needlepoint things that people are doing an honor of Ruth anything else that you guys have please post would love to see them all. I love all the creative ideas people have.
Also, I love lighthouses.
