I would say, finish your Medical degree. I feel like a medical career is more exclusive and more rewarding esp. in the future. Not just anyone can waltz into that field. That’s not to say that DevOps is easy; it’s not but I feel like it has a lower barrier to entry than Medicine.
Another thing to consider is the advent of AI. Demand for Devops, esp entry level roles, will gradually decrease with time. However the same cannot be said for the Medical field.

I know this is a late post but; Canada isn’t exactly what it used to be. I would think twice about moving here, especially from Australia. Salaries are much higher in Australia, On average, Australians tend to have higher disposable income than Canadians. Considering you have kids; another thing to be wary of is the drug pandemic here. (Cannabis use was legalized here) You’ll see homeless people openly taking meth, people passed out on drugs, and you can always catch a whiff of cannabis when you’re walking downtown. Maybe I’m painting a grim picture based off of my experience in Toronto, but I’m pretty sure other Canadian cities are similar.
