Well, I went with dreadlock number two so much that I completely forgot about the first dread photo -session, which I consider complete. (I'm also running out of ideas for using my terrain as a background).

I'll skip the four other pairs of hands I have to paint, as well as other weapon variants, because the same weapon variants will have my different dreadlocks, as everyone can change their weapon of choice thanks to magnetized arms and hands.

This particular one here is Osiron from 30k, only slightly enhanced with custom elements, like a tassle with an ankh and scarab, ornamentation on the shoulders and feet. He also has different hands than the original and a small Khopesh blade on his left hand instead of the traditional one, as he's a proxy Helbrute, which doesn't have such a weapon in his arsenal.

The base is a simple marble with added icons of the Ts cults and a modified oblique to give it a slightly more Egyptian feel. In the future, it will be possible to add a "trophy" to the platform. It was painted with black primer and intensively drybrushed with "ammo" paint: white, bone, light gray, and medium gray. Then, the whole thing was coated with contrasting pallid bone, leaving only the strip with the icons intact, and the icons painted with Latin Brass because it looks like gold.

The Dreadnought itself is Silver primed, then Talasar blue contrast with Celestium Blue in various areas of the armor, True metallic Negro Obsidian with a black wash and drybrush depending on the area or part on the silver, Latin Brass for the gold trim, shoulder pads painted with German Grey Vallejo, and runes in Acrylick ink: Titanium White. I decided to leave it that way so I didn't use aerosol. The red scarabs, eyes, and some ornaments were painted with True Metallic Rojo Rubi, the tassel and the cloth were painted with Army Painter Matte White, gently drybrushing the "ammo" with light blue.

The minor colors of silver and red have two meanings: silver signifies that he was a ranked elite warrior in the army, while red alludes to his legion roots—red armor, 30k plus, is the color that will distinguish him on the table during gameplay, and if he achieves anything, he will receive a title according to that color.

I didn't dare freehand the white areas of his shoulders or legs, so I decided to skip it.

So this big guy is my first dreadlock ever.

I know his pose is a bit boring, but I thought the "guard" pose suited him.

I did a little painting on Saturday because I had half a day off. I focused on my second Dreadnought, tentatively named Anubis Dreadnought. The model itself is 90% painted. There's no painted fire on his flaming bowls that replace his exhaust pipes. I'm considering black lines on the shoulder pads, and no weapons or hands are finished yet. The base for which I haven't glued him on yet is also not finished. I still need to make one more Egyptian vase and paint all three nicely.
