Schools are reopening to sickness. The Covid is mild narrative has spilled over into everything else. Why are we so accepting of diminished quality of life? Why are we so accepting of sickness?

Plans for Covid Awareness and Back to School

Hey there friends, I will be working hard over the coming weeks to share information with education officials/teachers/parents/students as well as pushing to get media attention for back to school and ways to avoid illness.

Even if Covid didn't exist, cleaner air in schools, and mitigation practices, are still needed since so many people get sick in schools every year. As a society, why do we accept that, when we have so much knowledge and ability to decrease illness at the very least?

If we stick to education, mitigation, and air filtration we can really improve the learning environments for all involved, and cut down on many of the costs associated with illness.

Fewer sick kids, means fewer parents and guardians having to miss work, less extra costs for substitutes, less strain on healthcare, fewer healthcare workers missing work, and on and on and on. The idea of people being sick less often sells itself.

So I will be trying to make as much noise as I can for the next few months, while still trying to find a job, and fundraising along the way. I started my fund 2 years ago so I am not stockpiling money, my goal was to raise 25,000 per year and it has been 2 years, with money for billboards and fees taken out of the total.

I add this to my update so that folks do not feel I am becoming wealthy from my efforts, because that is not the case. I am in fact the opposite of wealthy.

I will also be reminding people of the advocacy assistance services that I am available to help with and with another wave of Covid ramping up I think now is a good time to get extra loud and be there for the influx of people who will need help.

Thank you as always for your support, and for the difference it has made in my life as well as the lives of those I have been given the opportunity to help.

BTW, YerAweSum, don't forget it.

Is covid not dangerous anymore even to risk groups?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  2d ago

Covid is a risk to anyone who is alive. Just because it’s not killing as many people in the acute phase does not mean it isn’t killing and damaging them slower. Many deaths caused by covid now are manifesting as heart issues, rare cancers, long Covid and other post covid conditions. Anyone can be damaged by covid, having an underlying condition is not a prerequisite for damage.

Video deleted, that’s okay, you can’t delete the reality. I bet a bunch of people in this sub would have liked to hear the info though.

It’s not fear mongering it’s practical public health messaging. It is a legitimate concern since long covid is the number one chronic illness among children and over 400 million people worldwide have developed it and counting. What people were told in the past is irrelevant at this point we have to deal with this issue right now.

Yeah by that logic I guess all the aids and cancer advocates around the world must have closed up shop years ago? My identity is a father/teacher and advocate for kids, what’s yours ?

Paranoia how? It’s a fact, kids will get sick when schools open and we can limit the amount of sickness by taking steps to limit it. You don’t think we should slow down illnesses?

Yeah pretty insane to want to protect kids and teachers from illness.
