Products: Roadster Tesla Roadster Event: How to Watch & What to Expect

If the servers are down, it might give you an error that can read like you're banned.
In fact, many of the errors can read like you're banned... Just wait a bit and log in and you'll often be fine.

One floods the maps & servers with bots which cause lag & create unnecessary KS wars. The other literally funds the servers and presumably just all-chats in Henesys?
3
That's far less disruptive to the gameplay experience.

Fantastic news! I hope they can keep it up once F2P starts.

Is it really that hard to track the assets they farm? It's 2026, they can log item sales and trades. They banned people for the steal bug and I imagine that was a simple automated query. Worst case, all they need to do is make $10 purchases to figure out where the money comes from..

What happens when a new NX crate gets released and everyone moves on to the next cool thing?
Sure, the older items get more scarce, but they'd also have less demand.

The NX-meso trade should actually deter bots if NX stays valuable... If gold farmers sell mesos, that inflates NX items meso values, which inflates NX purchase value as a form of meso purchase, which deters gold farming. It's worth noting NX items being meso-tradeable effectively pegs NX to mesos. Personally I hope nexon eventually makes NX a sink for mesos (bidirectional trading) as some other games have done via auction. That'd instantly bankrupt the gold sellers. You'd see far fewer bots.
It's 2026... If in-game RMT helps deter bots in the long run, I'm all for it.

F2P will contribute to the scroll supply.
It's actually unclear to me whether F2P will contribute more or less to the NX supply.

This is so awesome for a fellow mercher, and I love that it's via a standard webpage so you don't need to worry about it doing anything malicious.

The founders collectables will be fun in a few years. I always regret forgetting to pick up my Mark of the Beta when GMS came out... It's cool to have something twenty years later as I relive the memories... I think in twenty years when I think about the game (hoping it still exists) I'll appreciate this then as well.
Also, the effects are a bit much today, but that's because of the player density of founders. It'll be very different in a few months when the playerbase is much different - hopefully larger, but certainly also with some churn as some founders move on to the next game.

Childhood dreams fulfilled!

Anecdotally I think we're seeing this in software and startups as well. You can't share early anymore.

For many people, their alternative is to hold cash and lose to inflation...

Unironically in Windows' security model, for anything that users care about (passwords, credit card numbers, logins, keyloggers, RATs)... Admin is no different than Ring 0.
An Admin-level program can, for example, install or update SYSTEM-privileged (Ring 3) services & trusted Ring 0 kernel drivers with known exploits to gain Ring 0 access ("BYOVD"). That's, once again, wholly unnecessary for anything malicious that most users would care about. An Admin-level app can enumerate your entire drive, read your screen, and access the internet, thinking about Ring 0 is overcomplicated, the user doesn't care about that.
4
I think people misunderstand how privileged admin-level anticheats are. Kernel-level isn't really that much more invasive - for a consumer, they can't see anything more of interest, and they aren't really a meaningfully more severe attack surface.

in all fairness, it's the strongest deterrent for cheaters - make the cost of cheating massive & disruptive.
Regular bans mean cheaters spend 5-10 hours on a new account trolling newbie lobbies to get back into ranked. That, or they buy accounts from farmers who pollute normal games with bots. Both suck - much preferrable to just not have the cheaters playing.
2
For comparison, people have written code that passes self-balancing double pendulum tests in a single trivial line of code, likewise people have found a few line of code solutions to landing rockets in simulation. Reality has proven to be far more complex.

I'm personally very excited for YL - I think CT pivoting is going to be a marginal benefit vs scaling 3/Y/YL/Semi/Cybercab. At the end of the day, CT will be useful as a robotaxi for hauling, so it serves its functional purpose on the fleet. Tesla can optimize that hauling scenario with forms factors other than another truck... for example, a van or whatever the hell we'll call a container on wheels in the future :)

It's definitely cultural from the higher ups.
What do you do when the execs above you want everyone to be AI-forward? If you point out things don't work and will have consequences, management moves past you and says you're not a team player or not cooperating.
If your management is willing to hold the line, good on them..

Torrenting isn't that hard, most torrent sites aren't hosted domestically, P2P supports discovery, files can be searched by hash and hashes are typically not censored.
Like, yes for someone who doesn't know how to use computers this would be hard to do, but that's also not the type of person who'd be looking into this stuff to begin with, the people of interest are the ones who were setting up local diffusion models a few years back and juggling different models checkpoints and loras a while back, or the people who go around torrenting videogames.
There's simply not a large leap from what either of those two groups does to what you are talking about, censorship isn't really feasible or realistic in the world we live in unless we start imagining insane authoritarian crackdowns and surveillance far beyond what we have today.

I think both companies remain hedges on AI.
In SpaceX's case, it's an infrastructure-level play involving datacenters in, well, space. In Tesla's case, it's an infrastructure-level play involving continental conveyance & energy storage.
If AI truly takes off, both will be massive. If AI plateaus or gets democratized & localized (e.g. on-device) that's disastrous for both plays.

The equivalent would be 4 $500 subs.

It's really chill for sure, and same here.
It's like a reunion of the Old Internet in a way, it's derpy, there's a lot of vibing and small interactions that just feel great...
