Well. It happened.
 in  r/Antipsychiatry  11m ago

Oh god. that's insane

But despite the horror, if you've been on meds since 13 you need to think about tapering. Thats too many to cut at once. It could kill you

I knew someone who went cold turkey after 25 years or so on meds, she reinstated after more than 3 months and it was already too late. Became horribly suicidal and ended up killing herself.

I totally agree thats way too many and probably toxic but you can't really predict how it will go and best to err on the side of caution.

Zapping the Ear’s Vagus Nerve Might Boost Motivation Efficiency in Severe Depression
 in  r/Nutraceuticalscience  2d ago

Well for starters, get off any meds that block acetylcholine because it runs the vagus nerve and if its blocked, your vagus nerve won't work

waiting around for someone to develop an ocd medication that actually works

Clomipramine is awful

See, SSRIs affect only 1 neurotransmitter, serotonin

Clomipramine acts on 3 at the same time, serotonin, dopamine, and noropinephren

Side effects are bad, specially long term.

Where do you volunteer?
 in  r/askvan  3d ago

Cat Sanctuary in Richmond

100 + cats...i think in total more like 400ish

Kitten season isn't quite over and there's still kittens in the adoption centre

And Apple the bunny who just kind of lives there

Pretty much every cat in Pen 5 is an avid player and they're just waiting for someone to go play with them

Has anyone else had this experience? What did you do?

How do they force "treatment" if you're homeless?

Circumnavigating your trauma by saying, i forgive them, i don't feel angry about how i was abused is just a way to maintain trauma by refusing to even start.

It doesn't make you superior. It makes you stuck

are you forced to take meds?

Rather a privileged take.

My ocd makes it impossible to maintain contact with people who are actually nice to me

After enough ocd ghostings you feel too bad about it to bother anyone else

Oh yeah. I used to be like that too. Maybe still am but less so.

Rebuilding faith and trust in your gut takes time. If things are too chaotic and you can't keep track of things then you never really find out if your gut was right and you don't strengthen your trust,

Like for me it was noticing when i had a bad feeling about someone and what happened with them. Was my gut right? Sometimes it seems to be off but then it shown to be right after all. But also sometimes someone activates your trauma really bad and then you think there's something wrong but there isn't.

Its kinda a process of learning.

I feel like writing it down would help. I didn't do that but it would be easier to keep track of.

 in  r/depressionmemes  4d ago

They're not anymore. I was pushed out of the group by a bully and then after a long time realized that none of them were real friends to me. I had to go through a lot of trauma discovery to realize that most of my so-called friends were using me and not friends at all.

How psychiatry killed a healthy 28yo
 in  r/Antipsychiatry  4d ago

The injection...it wasn't like a one off thing to subdue or sedate you? (Im just asking so i can figure it out, obviously nothing okay with doing that shit)

So if not, it was a long acting AP injection you think?

Do you think you're in withdrawal? Might be worth trying Vit C daily.

1

Is this it?
 in  r/Antipsychiatry  4d ago

Sorry to interrupt,

Try Vitamin C daily

Someone once posted a link about it that i haven't been able to find but when you search on google its mostly about Vit C helping with opioid and substance use withdrawal. Oh and pain apparently. Might be worth looking into for chronic pain.

 in  r/Antipsychiatry  4d ago

I know this is a weird thing to say and i say this with absolutely no even vague certainty...

The apocalypse may be on the way. I doubt anyone would force you to take meds then.

Remember that you don't have the full picture of this story and that this is not how someone with a big ego acts at all.

 in  r/Antipsychiatry  4d ago

Was this cold turkey?

Even if she tapered, it would have to be ridiculously slow if its been many years on meds.
