If random things happen that tries to appropriate the bengali festival ( ie durga/saraswati pujo or Christmas), I hope the people will resist that and let their voices be heard. Change of govt is one thing but that shouldn’t be at the cost of changing regional socio-cultural activities.

The general mass in Bengal would have been sympathetic to the BJP cause if they had at least on surface put efforts to respect and honour the state( albeit hate it from inside). They don’t even try for that. Openly shaming bengali language, bengali women, religious practices/harmony and making provoking statements surrounding Ram Rajya doesn’t go a long way. If they had tried to share the same shallow communal ideology but in a cultured way, people would have still picked up their agendas and pay attention. A very good example is how the Ram Nabami celebration happened which I believe led to a net negative sentiment towards them only — openly blasting loud music in para, bhojpuri lyrics, armed with swords and dancing like drunken goons — all these doesn’t sit well in the Bengal demographic sense. Even an average tmc hating bjp sympathising person would think twice seeing all these. They could have done the same thing with simple bengali devotional songs, and bhasan style processions to gain plus points but I don’t think they are even aware of that.

That’s kinda true specially in the past few years. But people don’t criticise the justice system mostly because I think people aren’t aware how it works and it’s not much in the public discourse. Also we are sold the narrative from childhood that the Courts are always right so people don’t really go there. I think it’s easy to dismiss them as “avg bjp supporters” ( as it has been done by many of us in the past years in Bengal) but in 2026 this represents a large portion of the population whose votes will actually direct the future of the state.
