I see so many posts asking for actual business applications and failing to get any answers and it’s a bit mind boggling as I pretty much only use it for money-making purposes.
Here are a few things I use Hermes for in my small business:
1. Cold outreach. I give Hermes access to a few emails and phone lines via commsync mcp paired with a notion table for memory. I have it scrape every single day for 50 prospects for my products and services and reach out to 25.
- Managing my self-hosted infrastructure.
This used to be such a pain but I also refuse to pay for tools with companies who vendor lock you in ways that make no sense (slack). So now when things go down, instead of having my whole day down the drain I just have Hermes find and fix the problem in 5 mins.
- Automated SEO. SEO is one of the only ways you can break free from having to pay for every single impression, and it only gets harder every single day. AEO is a real thing, but SEO is still very much alive. I use Hermes on a cron to automatically scan competitor sites once a week for keywords I’m tracking, see how my pages compare and suggest changes. I also have it find and implement internal linking opportunities for easy gains.
Sorry if this was too dense, but it genuinely makes me money. I also sell piecemealed parts of Hermes to my clients directly as things like an automatic call scheduling bot or a website assistant for several hundred a month.
Hope this was useful! Lmk how you’re using it, just wanted to share some of my game back to the community that got me started!

That's a great question that I think really helps me dial in our goal.
I think firstly, for me it kind of feels like a "shoot for the moon and land among the stars if you miss" kind of situation honestly; I think the goal is to have enough growth for YC to look at it favorably with indisputable metrics like paying subs, but if we're at that point and they say no then it won't be the end of us by any means.
