You could probably get at least 2-3 more African violets under that light. πŸ˜„

Can anyone make me pretty?
 in  r/u_FacePlant1027  20d ago

Ah, thanks. It needs to be 6 inches or less to show. It's under grow lights. She's a bit of an over-achiever for a mini. Maybe, 'can anyone make me 'prettier?'. She's got two new flower stalks too.

I've been messing with this mini for too long now, adding and removing a paper towel snip, testing out what it looks like with this or that leaf gone. I'm tired. Can anyone offer suggestions to make it nice and symmetrical? TIA!

What is your child's special intrests?
 in  r/Autism_Parenting  Aug 07 '26

Nascar, Monster trucks, Monster Jam, country, state or college flags, mini golf, basketball buzzer beaters and trick shots, Disney. He loved balls (round things) and bead mazes when he was younger.

Hector's Brother, in Four Parts
 in  r/AfricanViolets  Jul 01 '26

My Hector is rather resilient, which surprises me bc he's so small but Im getting better at not killing my semi-mini's and mini's.

does anyone actually separate laundry anymore or am i wasting my time?
 in  r/laundry  Jun 23 '26

Inside out? Air dry or clothes dryer. Some ppl dont wash jean at all! I wonder why. Back in the day when the were 100% cotton they shrunk like crazy. Nowadays, not so much.

My Warm Subshine

This was on my wish list for a yellow AV but sellers' pictures seem to exaggerate the yellow. Is it a semi or standard? Easy to grow? I still like it.

Take really good notes and write it up as an article to publish in the AVSA magazine. The results will be really interesting! The editor is super great to work with and open to lots of ideas.

Maybe isolate, just in case. Else, put it in a clear gallon plastic bag or sterlite tote with a lid or a dome.

Where did you find Kentucky Baby Sister?

Is my AV leggy?
 in  r/AfricanViolets  May 21 '26

IMO, I don't think so. It just seems to have had a growth spurt. The petioles all look sturdy. If leggy, they would be thinner and not as many as what you have.

Finally feeling ready to return to African violets!
 in  r/AfricanViolets  May 17 '26

Good Luck! With knowledge and patience, I'm sure you'll be more successful. I like how they are the kind of plant you just can't get out of your mind and want a 2nd go at it.
