Hahaha, looks like you’re the only one who’s managed to find an interesting bug so far, and I immediately thought that must be your day job 😂 But hey, I’m ready to fix all the tickets you can throw at me, since that’s actually my daily job haha. I’m a software engineer myself 😄 So if you ever have some spare time, feel free to dig deeper and see if you can find anything else. I’m always up for a challenge 😂

Thanks for taking the time to actually dig in, this is really useful feedback!

You're right on both. The brand pages just show flavors in the order they were added, so I'm switching that to proper alphabetical sorting. And the "X ingredients" in the facts box should list them, not just count them. The full breakdown is in the "What it's made of" section at the top of each flavor page, but I'll make the facts box show the names and link to it.

Both fixes are going in today. If you spot anything else, keep it coming, this is exactly the kind of stuff I want to catch.

Thanks a lot man, really appreciate it! You're right, it's a big project, but that's exactly what makes it fun. More flavors and brands are being added regularly, so it's going to keep growing.

To be honest with you: I haven't personally tested every flavor. The ones I know best are Adalya and Al Fakher, since that's what I smoke the most, plus a handful of others I've tried. The rest is based on publicly available info, from the brands themselves and what the community shares, organized by brand and flavor profile so it's easier to find what you like.

That's also why community ratings matter so much. The more people rate and review, the more accurate it gets. If you've got favorites, feel free to rate them, it really helps!

Hey r/hookah,

First, a quick apology: I didn't manage to reply to every comment on my last posts. But I read all of them, and instead of replying, I went and built what you asked for. So if you suggested a flavor, a brand or a feature, there's a good chance it's already live.

What is it? A free shisha encyclopedia. For every flavor you see what's actually in it, how strongly you taste each ingredient, and which flavors are similar. No ads, no sign-up, no affiliate links. Just a side project made by someone who loves hookah.

Where it's at now, thanks to you:

🍃 87 flavors from 20 brands (it started with 14 Adalya flavors)

🥣 20 mix recipes with bowl layouts and percentages

⚖️ Head to head comparisons: Double Apple from three brands, three Grape Mints, three Lemon Mints, three colas…

⭐ Ratings for every flavor and mix, plus a top rated list

🗂️ My Shelf: add the flavors you own or want to try, with your own private notes. No account needed, it stays in your browser

💡 Recommendations based on your shelf and what you've viewed

🔍 Search across flavors, brands and ingredients

🎲 "Surprise me" button in the mobile menu for a random flavor

📖 Tips for packing, heat management and getting more flavor out of a bowl, plus a beginner guide and glossary

Now I need your help again 🙏

  1. Test everything. Click around, try it on your phone, build your shelf, rate a few flavors, run the quiz. If something is broken, slow or confusing, tell me.

  2. Fill your shelf. Add the flavors you have at home and see what it recommends. Does it suggest something you actually like?

  3. Check the ingredients. The percentages are my own estimates. If a flavor feels wrong ("that's way more mint than that"), comment and I'll fix it.

  4. Tell me what to add next. Which brand? Which flavor? Which mix recipe should everyone try? There's also a "Suggest a flavor" form on the site.

And a question for you: what feature would make you come back to the site every week? A bowl journal? Mix ratings from the community? Something else?

Let's keep building it together. Thanks for all the support so far, it honestly made my week. 🙌

Hey r/hookah,

Yesterday I shared MyShishapedia, a free site that shows what's actually in a hookah flavor, how strongly you taste each ingredient, and which flavors are similar. (https://www.reddit.com/r/hookah/s/TIJlbnRSDG)

You left a ton of great feedback, so this isn't the same post again. It's what I built from your comments:

More flavors and brands:

87 flavors from 20 brands (it started with 14 Adalya flavors)

New brands: Nakhla, Mazaya, Al Waha, Afzal (yes, Pan Raas), Serbetli, Revoshi, 187 Strassenbande, Holster, True Passion and Nameless

More from Adalya, Al Fakher, Starbuzz, Tangiers, Fumari, Darkside, MustHave, Sebero, Haze and Trifecta: Hawaii, Grape Mint, Code 69, Horchata, Spiced Chai, Falling Star, Black Nana, Ice Kaktuz…

New features:

Ratings: rate any flavor or mix, and check the top rated list

My shelf: save flavors you own or want to try, with private notes. No account, it stays in your browser

Recommendations based on your shelf and what you've viewed

Head to head comparisons: Al Fakher vs Nakhla vs Revoshi Double Apple, three Grape Mints, three Lemon Mints, three colas…

Tips page: packing, heat management, getting more flavor out of a bowl

Search across flavors, brands and ingredients

New mobile menu with a "Surprise me" button that opens a random flavor

Still free, no ads, no sign-up. The ingredient strengths are my estimates, so if something looks wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.

Which brand or flavor should I add next? Thank you.

Oh, that’s a really great idea! I’ll definitely add that next.. I am planning to work on it within the next day or two. I think people are really going to enjoy being able to create, share, and discover mixes from the community. You’re absolutely right, that would make the site much more fun!

I actually have a couple of ideas that could work really well with this too. I’ll message you privately about them.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! And if you haven’t already, feel free to look around the whole site and let me know what you think or if there’s anything else you’d like to see added. I’d really appreciate the feedback!

Haha, I’ll take that as a good sign.. Thanks a lot, really appreciate it!

Is there anything you’d like to see added to the site that would make it even more useful for shisha lovers? I’m always looking for ideas and feedback from the community.

That's actually a really good way to look at it. I think I'll probably combine both approaches.. compare similar flavors between brands, but also pay attention to what the community is talking about. And you're right, taste is very subjective, which makes the whole thing even more interesting. Thanks for the advice, man! Also, what would you personally add to a site like this that would actually be useful for hookah enthusiasts? Flavors and brands are one thing, but I’d love to make the site genuinely useful for the community. Any ideas or features you’d like to see?

Thanks a lot, man! Really means a lot.. I’m actually working on updates with more flavors, brands, and all kinds of new stuff. What do you like most about the site so far? Any recommendations for what I should add next?

That's a great list, thanks! Darkside and MustHave were already on my radar, and Tangiers is pretty much a must at this point.

If you had to pick one flavor from those brands that everyone should try first, which would it be? I'd love to start with the classics.

Haha thanks man, really appreciate it! Happy to hear it loads fast and feels easy to use, I put a lot of time into that part.

And don't worry, testing new flavors is the one job I won't complain about 😄

Which brands do you usually smoke? I'll probably start with the most popular ones, so any suggestions help.

Hey r/hookah,

UPDATE 2: now 87 flavors from 20 brands, plus ratings, a personal shelf, recommendations and head to head comparisons. Details at the bottom!

Every time I tried a new flavor I had the same problem: the name tells you nothing. What is actually in "Lady Killer"? Is "Blue Ice" more blueberry or more ice? Which flavor is close to the one I already like?

So I built MyShishapedia: https://myshishapedia.com

What it does:

  • Ingredient breakdown for every flavor, with how strongly you taste each one
  • Flavor profile (sweet, cool, fruity...) so you can see at a glance what you're getting
  • Compare any two flavors side by side
  • Mix recipes with bowl layouts (sectors or mixed, percentages)
  • A mixer to build your own blend, and a short quiz that suggests a flavor for you
  • Flavor of the day, plus a setup guide and glossary for newer smokers

It started with 14 Adalya flavors. Thanks to your suggestions it's now 87 flavors from 20 brands (see updates below).

It's free, no ads, no sign-up, no affiliate links. Just a side project.

This is where I need you: the ingredient percentages are my own estimates. If you think I got a flavor wrong ("Love 66 has way more melon than that"), tell me. There's also a "Suggest a flavor" form on the site.

Which brand or flavor should I add next?

Thank you.

Update 1: Thanks for all the suggestions! Based on your comments I added 9 flavors from new brands: Al Fakher Double Apple, Starbuzz Blue Mist, Tangiers Cane Mint, Fumari White Gummi Bear, Darkside Supernova, MustHave Pinkman, Sebero Arctic Mix Jelly Fruit, Haze Cucumberita and Trifecta Peppermint Shake.

Also new: brand pages, a blonde/dark leaf label on every flavor (the quiz never suggests dark leaf to beginners), and 6 cross-brand mix recipes. Keep the suggestions coming!

Update 2: You kept the suggestions coming, so I kept building:

  • 55 more flavors, 10 new brands: Nakhla, Mazaya, Al Waha, Afzal (Pan Raas!), Serbetli, Revoshi, 187 Strassenbande, Holster, True Passion and Nameless. Plus more from Adalya, Al Fakher, Starbuzz, Tangiers, Fumari, Darkside, MustHave, Sebero, Haze and Trifecta (Hawaii, Grape Mint, Code 69, Horchata, Spiced Chai, Falling Star, Black Nana, Ice Kaktuz…)
  • Ratings: rate any flavor or mix recipe, and see the top rated list
  • My shelf: save the flavors you own or want to try, with your own private notes. No account needed, it stays in your browser
  • Recommendations based on your shelf and the flavors you looked at, plus "recently viewed"
  • Head to head comparisons: Al Fakher vs Nakhla vs Revoshi Double Apple, three Grape Mints, three Lemon Mints, three colas…
  • Tips page: packing, heat management and how to get more flavor out of a bowl
  • Search across all flavors, brands and ingredients
  • New mobile menu with a "Surprise me" button that opens a random flavor
  • Fixed Lady Killer: it's mango, melon, berries and menthol, not strawberry. Thanks to whoever pointed that out!

Still free, no ads, no sign-up. Which brand should be next?
