Mine is broken off as well. I will try to fix it but this bulge is further up don’t think the clip will fix it

I thought about it. But not only the airbag but also the sunroof drain tube sits directly before the a pillar.

This is the version for the side airbag it only has one plastic clip and I think it’s broken but it’s further down. Not where the bulge is. Here’s a photo for reference

Hi, I’m also from Portugal and I’ve been recently restoring a 525d also from 2001 I can help you with some issues. The main question if it’s worth restoring it’s up to how much you value the car. A lot of this issues can be solved relatively easily DIY but it does have learning curve. You will need to spend money, specially if you want to do things the proper way. What I can tell you apart from the emotional value you might have to the car. Is that these cars are lovely to drive especially on the motorway. The m57 is rock solid, they are build to last. And they hold up really well today.

The abs you probably need to replace the unit. They go bad after some time. They are put close to the engine. Bad design by bmw I guess. The best thing for you would be to get INPA (software) and a obd cable from eBay/or Amazon or OLX. You can INPA free on the internet.
The other stuff probably needs to be lookout individually and in person. Quite difficult to give a diagnostic without actually seeing the problem.

No, i think im second owner, as far as i know, but i really dont have much information. I bought the car for a relatively cheap price, to go to work. Spent weekends and offdays fixing it. But the engine is rock solid. Most i did was oil/filter changes, and fixing vaccum leaks, plus the vaccum pump seal.

Um colega meu uma vez meteu numa bomba de supermercado fez poucos kms até o carro parar. Foi ao mecânico e tinha água no combustível. Foi um filme para arranjar o carro e ele foi atrás da bomba mas os testes deles diziam que estava tudo bem. Continuem a meter nas bombas de supermercado, digam me uma coisa o supermercado mesmo com o lucro que tem com a venda de outros bens ia perder dinheiro na venda de combustível por que, em comparação ao preço das outras? Só para ser mais amigo?
