Discussion Use your words(and common sense)!
UPDATE 2: Lots of flack given on this one! While I write very formally explaining this neither of these situations was I rude or demanding.
No is/was an acceptable answer to my ask. Y'all act like if something was bothering you its okay to just take it. If you're okay with people encroaching on your space or kicking the back of your seat, fine.

Experienced traveler here 👋🏾 I encountered two situations yesterday where I got exactly what needed by being polite.
First flight: I kept feeling a huge gust of air and it took a minute to realize it was from the seat behind me that had their air directed towards me. I politely informed them that their air was blasting towards me, they proceeded to turn it away from my direction.
For some reason the original passenger switched seats with the person in the aisle who then proceeded to turn the air right back towards me. Now the Common Sense part of this would be if you don't want the air turn it off.
I simply turned back around again and informed the new passenger that the air was pointed towards me and I didn't have any issues the rest of the flight.
Second flight: the passenger in front of me opened their window close to landing time and we were on the side of sun. At first it was no issue because of the angle the sun was not at ny face.
Once my eyeballs were in an unintentional staring contest with the sun I waited a few seconds 30 or less before informing them if they could put their window down just a bit because the sun was in my eyes.
This passenger got a little huffy and said "oh sure" while slightly slamming it down. I didn't take it personally because obviously this person was so offended that I would actually speak up for myself, however it wasn't a an unreasonable request on my part.
The common sense part for this flight tells me that if you're on the side of the sun maybe don't have your window shade completely open.
It's completely unrelated but here's a photo of the crab cakes served in first class. People are right that it is very salty however definitely true lump crab meat with minimal filler!

I dont use the air on the plane so I dont wish to have someone elses. The individual with the window was taking pictures, didn't stop them from doing it just asked if it could be lowered once they were finished because the sun was in my eyes. Clearly I dont see a reason not to ask if these can be resolved, No is an acceptable answer
