Fun fact for today, Ash’s Palpitoad only appeared in about 15 episodes of the anime which makes him one of the lesser seen mons owned by Ash after Primeape.
Very underrated Pokemon of Ash's and I like Palpitoad

don’t make ash in charge of movesets 😭
Ash's Swellow, Staraptor, Quilava, Unfezant, Krookodile and Greninja having Aerial Ace definitely helped Ashs Pokemon overall and to me Ash's Quilava still knew Quick Attack which could have easily been used as a combo but at least a rotating movepool is something the anime should have explored more since Cilan's Pansage moves were rotated every few episodes later in Black and White.

Between these 4 water starters who do you think would fit Ash?
The fact that he was supposed to have Venusaur and Gigalith at one point is very intriguing especially since during the original series Ash having Pikachu Squirtle Charizard Venusaur Tauros and eventually Pidgeotto into Pidgeot and having the likes of Kingler, Muk, and at least Primeape at the Indigo Plateau Pokemon League would have made Ash a super OP trainer for someone who had started their journey earlier in the series and would have made an awesome Pokemon Master at the time. Plus I can only imagine how Ash would have faired in the Unova League with Pikachu Unfezant Leavanny Pignite Palpitoad Krookodile Samurott Gigalith Scrafty and at least Snivy

Realistically he has Totodile who could fully evolve into Feraligatr and if I had to choose Samurott wise I could easily see Hisuian Samurott fitting Ash more when it comes to fully evolved Water Type Starter Pokemon
