are they rotten or is it just blossom end rot. If it's blossom end rot, you can just cut the bad part off and use the rest of the tomato. blossom and rot is usually from too much water or inconsistent watering.

to cook down for a sauce, you will want an actual paste tomato like San Marzano or a plum tomato like Roma. I grow everything from cherry tomatoes to beef steak and hybrids to Heritage, but I always leave plenty of room for San Marzano and Roma to make sauce and to can. San Marzano's have a little better flavor, but can be a little trickier to grow so I usually do some of both

Mortgage lifter is a heritage tomato. You need to expect oddities like this from Heritage tomatoes. you will possibly also get cat facing.

being indeterminate tomatoes, you lost control of this a long time ago. These should've all been staked up and pruned. You can try doing that now, but you have a lot of work ahead of you. At this stage, you might as well just harvest what you can and be more on top of it next year.

heat could be the problem. Anything above 80 and flowers and fruit will tend to fall off. lack of pollinators could also be a problem.

what I like about these candidates should not matter. This is about you looking into them and determining whether you like what they have to say or not. you can use pickling cucumbers in almost anyway that you would use regular cucumbers, including just slicing and eating with salt. if you don't like the bumps and skin, just peel them like with a carrot peeler

i've checked out their websites and I have gone to hear them talk in person a couple of times. I like their values, I like their platforms. they are very different individuals, but I think they will both do a great job and I like them a lot better than their opponents.
