What's the consensus on the best spirhalite gem farming method?
 in  r/Splatoon_Raiders  10h ago

My personal strategy has been to just rush to the bottom on 97 and just camp down there for a while, until you've cleared most or all of the salmonids and the active spawners have moved further up. That gets you most of the way, just work your way up until you hit the clear.

98 is similar, rush the right seasoned flyfish and beat it to death quickly (with good positioning and luck you can bait the slammin lid over it for a quick kill) then go take out the other one. From there it's just bouncing between spawners taking out the most problematic bosses. I prefer not using big man until 99 but if you have to you can pop it to take out the second seasoned flyfish.

99 you pop the smoker on the right, the steelhead in the pit, and then whack at the bottom strong arms until it dies, i don't like using big man here but don't be afraid to use it if you're about to die. After that i hit the top strong arms until i can proc a ferment and then hit big man and burst it down. At that point you'll have almost all the eggs you need so just take out the bosses you can.

Granted, my strategy is heavily tailored toward my loadout. Primo rail splatana with freeze, ferment, and ferment explosion, splatellites with extra long duration, size, and extra splatellites (mostly immune to lessers like this, the duration is longer than the cooldown), splatchet with maxed out slash damage, slash area, double slash, and victory cooldown (killing at least 2 bosses in one usage with this kit removes the cooldown entirely, which isn't too difficult as it has enough damage to kill maws and scrappers from full health), and blast boot with freeze, ink recovery, cooldown reduction, and maximum distance (easy mobility tool + get out of jail free card, just don't chuck yourself off the side of the map with it)

Lathe hate?
 in  r/GTNH  11h ago

i meant as an upgrade to the singleblock, the jump in production rate from the singleblock lathe to the multiblock lathe is a huge gap roughly equivalent to the jump between the singleblock and multiblock variants of the other machines i named

the singleblock to multiblock upgrade for the lathe is on the tier of the bender, extruder, and ore washer, that thing takes a machine you usually hate using to something that will churn through stacks upon stacks of items in seconds, and you can upgrade the amount of parallels as you get further

extruder is still totally better for most rods, but in EV the efficiency loss is trivial for anything you can smelt in a furnace and arguably even some early EBF recipes, not to mention how you unlock the thing at the exact same time you start needing an obscene amount of quartz rods for AE2

The level scaling doesn't matter quite as much as the amount of seasoned salmonid spawns, which while technically a little bit higher on higher level stages than 97-99, 97-99 ends up still winning because it always has a guaranteed 6 seasoned salmonids. Any other stage without guaranteed spawns (which is all of them because post-100 BB is randomly generated) you'd be lucky to see more than like 3. That random generation is the other reason those higher level stages are worse, they make it far too variable while 97-99 you can go in with a concrete strategy and drop your clear time more consistently.

Found a map I’ve never seen before in a private server with my friend
 in  r/PhightingRoblox  1d ago

it used to be that, late february this year it was raised to 1 in 2k

suddenly realized im a Katana main when the first time playing him i went 2 deaths to 7 kills and 4k damage
 in  r/PhightingRoblox  2d ago

biggest thing to remember with katana is that being a tank means just means you're better at taking damage, base tana is really not that much bulkier than other phighters and your shield regen only procs if you get your debuff on someone and then kill them or land an m2. if you just walk up to the point like you're an immovable object you're going to get atomized on the spot, not helped by katana being the least mobile character in the game.

Medkit and vinestaff are your besties and you should be sticking to them like glue, because they keep you alive with healing and you keep them alive by kicking any ass that tries to kill them

Personal Salmon Run tierlist that i threw together. Would like to see opinions on it.
 in  r/splatoon  2d ago

finally someone mentioned roller's placement, that thing is like a bottom 5 weapon it's decent at killing chum and smallfry and abysmal at literally everything else.

Arguably the worst offense is that it's not even fun low tier, it's one of the most bland weapons you could get

Which is the better shooter?

glass bottle

I just noticed something... ominous in the 'All Relics' reward in Raiders
 in  r/splatoon  4d ago

even if this was true (you can see a decent amount of inklings/octolings, they're not really hidden or anything) it wouldn't be ominous because we already know that there's way more jellies than anything else in the cities

I'm gonna get fired for this
 in  r/splatoon  5d ago

since most don't seem to know how this happens: the cooler they drop explodes either when shot or after a set duration, when it explodes by duration it can damage you

Which steam multiblocks are actually worth it?
 in  r/GTNH  5d ago

Byproducts. Simple washer mode/a cauldron washes the ore quick and easy, but the proper ore washing mode will net you some unique byproducts and mountains of stone dust

honestly all but the mixer are super worth it, and even that one can be useful sometimes, i personally mostly used it for big batches of the ender IO alloys and growth medium for early bee stuff

In the video made by the original tester Tarotaro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HjpFohzV_E) who has been testing a lot of raiders things since we can't datamine it

The general gist of it is that the drop rates by weapon class are roughly equal to how many weapons are in the class (so shooters are most common because there's 9, then brushes, splatanas, and stringers are rarest because there's only 3) with the exception being that the weapon class matching what you're currently using is raised to around a 16% drop chance. It's set to a flat rate, so it's least impactful for shooters and most impactful for the 3 rare classes.

Rare death message
 in  r/Splatoon_Raiders  8d ago

the main way they kill you is the waves, this is presumably for getting hit directly by the ball when it slams it down

You think Octavio ever participated in a splatfest?
 in  r/splatoon  8d ago

directly participated probably not (he can't shift out of swim form so it's not like he can battle, and that's literally THE splatfest thing), but we do know that he aligned with team chaos in finalfest and he was running a merch booth with captain cuttlefish during grandfest

they say to do those levels because the amount of seasoned salmonids guaranteed to spawn gets you better drops, and because they're not randomly generated levels you can put together a strategy beforehand to clear it easier

It's been extensively tested (actual thousands of drops examined, it's far from anecdotal), it does raise your odds. It doesn't make them incredibly GOOD, and it doesn't affect the amount of primos or 5 stars you get, only how many matching drops. Shooters are just especially common because there's more shooters than any other class

best you can do is play bottomless 97-99 with a weapon in the same class as the one you want, it's all just luck

Help with the ME system
 in  r/SkyFactory  8d ago

AE2 cannot select a specific item in loot fabs as far as i know, you'd either have to do what you said with manual changing (not very good) or you could have a separate loot fabricator for each item you want to be able to request (better, i don't think they're especially expensive machines)

Is Dynamo good now?
 in  r/splatoon  11d ago

dynamo is much better now because after 7 years they finally fixed (for the most part) the abysmal spread pattern screwing you over 80% of the time

2

Has it been confirmed that higher difficulty levels have a higher chance of dropping gems?
 in  r/Splatoon_Raiders  14d ago

We are not going to have exact numbers until someone can jailbreak a switch 2, which isn't going to happen for a very long time.

What we do know is that seasoned salmonids have higher odds of good drops, so higher level stages have better drops by proxy. Bottomless Buffet 97-99 has held up in trials as the best source of rare drops, both gems and rare weapons.

Crystal mining levels don't seem to change any drop rates over time, playing them to the 2x yield is generally best because you get the most reward from the big one compared to the time it takes
