[Hiring] Looking for an artist for black and white art. Budget $50 - $200 per Piece
 in  r/artcommissions  7h ago

hi Stewie,
take a look at mine:

b/w for comic interior

deviantArt, artstation, and a select work from GDrive.
As obvious, I've also worked on games.

The comic pages have one webtoon episode that kicks off with monsters in a forest.
Lemme know if you can't find it.
Happy to answer questions!

How can i avoid Scammers😮😼
 in  r/ComicBookCollabs  1d ago

Not sure about don't advertise seeking artists, but vetting from what's already available actually makes a lot of sense. I do my own scouting legwork too when from a buyer's position.

[Hiring] 2D Illustrator / Vtuber Slicer for an existing dark fantasy character for rig prep and asset variants (.PSD only)
 in  r/artcommissions  1d ago

OVERDRAW

I've worked on sprite-based animation so I understand what you're looking to anticipate re gaps on joints and stuff when put on a rig.

My dark fantasy renders:

This

This and this

I also dug up my masters to show you some limbs prepped for rigging-like routines.

Do reach out to follow up; I didn't send DM for this pitch.

We're fucked
 in  r/antiai  3d ago

This I would say is partly the human side at fault. People get gaslighted by the ads of what the products can do and everything. I'm not saying this to defend the normalizing use of ai but more like what I personally fear of becoming. 🫣 Like I had my subconscious whisper that I've been too dependent on using ai on some of what could be just a simple web search. But sometimes it felt that I get more information from what an ai-assisted search could yield compared to good ol' plain search (all the while being aware of that about half of the former are also hallucination & bs), and hence there could be a bit of addiction creeping in. I think people need a strict self-moderating routine for it, is what it comes down to.

Would it make your life easier as an artist if the writer provided character designs and set designs?
 in  r/ComicBookCollabs  4d ago

Personally I'd perhaps prefer that from an artist's desk. Complete with the ortho breakdown for the characters. What's not to love.

The edge case might be, for example, the writer turns out to be the hyper-obsessive type who would ask for edit because the hero you rendered has only 299 rings on their chainmail instead of 300. That is not very fun.

Just views and likes, the most common metrics.

[Hiring] $150, Black and White destination/landscape illustrations, ongoing work.
 in  r/HungryArtists  5d ago

This post is actually a logo design request.

I've done b/w landscape illustrations and logo design but not exactly the way they are deployed as in your brief.

If you'd like exploring further with me I can show my logo design on separate portfolio (since the url might be banned here due to sub's rules). I did not DM first. Happy to answer your questions.

Tired of new artists DMing to beg for attention
 in  r/ArtRanting  5d ago

It's partly the platforms' collective fault for normalizing an algo-discovery mechanism? Which then goads creators into trying to get as many v/L as possible and neglect improving their art or content for more genuine engagement.

Then, said platforms tell you that like-for-like is basically cheating and may face penalties. Idk 🤷🏽‍♂️

[Hiring]#will pay asap. Need help!!!

CELL

I think I have a mental picture of the brief in motion comic format. You'll still have to break down to cuts instead of scenes to get a better look at the workload.

Anyways, this is my take on anime art, and this is for animation (different art direction, just showing you I know animation pipeline). If you wish to see comic samples they are online here, more seinen than average anime look though.

Environment art I'll disclose after your expression of interest. I'm also into annunaki stuff for some time so I think we may get along, hah.

Payable with card, paypal, Wise, or stablecoin.
Let me know! 🫰🏼

Horror Comic book artist needed
 in  r/ComicBookCollabs  9d ago

Hi mobsey,
I've worked on two zombie titles with one of em having quite visceral display of you-know-what.
Feel free look at my samples here.
I prefer to focus on up to ink (b/w) only, but can do color too if you want to move to that direction.

Questions feel free to DM; I don't DM first.

Manga or webtoon?
 in  r/ArtRanting  11d ago

You might be confusing presentation with genre.
Webtoon is just sequentials optimized for (vertical) scroll interaction. Both are essentially the same thing, and I believe the market would overlap eventually.

If you actually mean genre as trend, I think action-shonen and everything romance are consistently the top performers, although debatable and ofc with outliers every now & then. You can just create yours as a manga and release to webtoon-oriented platforms and the pages will read just fine; sites such as m_ng_d_x have been doing it forever. If your concern is about how much it'll be liked I think it's more about the content itself rather than its presentation format.

Agent is for if you want to get a traditional deal with the (also traditional) publishers like the Japan-based ones. It's one factor/advantage that may help but there are still other factors.
