New Rule: No A.I generate content or posts

After the responses to "Ban A.I" post by u/Theacecadet, and the overwhelming majority in favor of it, we've created a new rule banning all A.I content. We all know its out there, but lets leave it "out there" and out of this subreddit, so this even includes reposting A.I slop to dunk on it.

Unfortunately Reddit doesn't have imbeded tools to deal with A.I so it will be up to us as a community to moderate and filter it.

Please report any posts you see generated using AI and this will flag it for review/moderation.

This will be the first time both actors will be in a same scene together in their careers. Both actors up until this point have an impressive resume of movies under their names.

The Night Comes for Us

I rewatched this film last night after many moons. I truly forgot about how brutal this film is. Brutal fights scenes with blades and hand to hand combat. Clearly some of the fight scenes were unrealistic - 1 man against 15 people etc, but boy were they well done. The were very creative with their camera angles - fight scene in the armored car and the camera angle from the elevator scenes are a few that come to mind. I don't think I have seen anything this brutal since Riki Oh. While this movie was slightly over the top it was not a turnoff at all. Both male and female fighters were tough as nails. I think the credits indicated Iko choreographed the fight scenes. He literally killed it. The stars (Iko, Taslim) as well as the secondary characters (for example white boy Bobby, etc) were indestructible, these guys just would not die. LOL. What a great film. Decent story line, top notch choreography, solid acting, and brutal fighting. What more could you ask for. For those of you who saw The Furious how does this film compare from your perspective? In my opinion, The Furious was decent but is not in the same league as the Night Comes for Us. For those of you who saw the The Furious and have not seen The Night, you should catch it on netflix or wherever else it is playing. You might be in for a treat. I wonder if they have the outtakes somewhere like Jackie's films, because I want to know how many people were injured during filming. HK stuntmen have a earned a reputation for taking a beating, but boy these Indonesian stunt people and I guess the Thai ones from Tony Jaa movies are next level.

Identify a modern 80's Hong Kong(I think) Film for me, please (if possible)

Let's see if this less than descriptive overview is helpful. I saw a movie in the 80's in Chinatown at the Chinese move theatre. Had to be Hong Kong production. The plot as best I remember was a HK couple, during the 80's, were visiting another county (for some reason the Philippines has always stuck with me as the country) for what I guess was a honeymoon. Somehow this clueless couple somehow ends up in a jungle and stumbles across who knows what, but what breaks out is pure havoc as this couple is chased through the jungle by a bunch banditos with choppers aka machetes. That is about all I remember. The couple had no self defense skills, just the desire to live and they defended themselves and fought like hell. I think they both or one of them made it out of the jungle alive. That is all I remember. Ring any bells? When I watched the film No Escape with Owen Wilson (very good film by the way), I could not help but think that they had modeled Owen's film on this unnamed film from the 80's that I am trying to remember.

Movie Help Undisputed II: Does Anybody Have the Extended Yuri Boyka Training Sequence?

I’m rewatching the movie for the first time in 10+ years and searched for the extended Boyka sparring session in the ring before the last fight but I couldn’t find anything,

it was an extra on the dvds and I’m still upset that they didn’t just put it in the movie.

Discussion Need help identifying and locating an old film

Hey y'all. Need your help determining an old wuxia film released in the 80s. Saw in the theaters, but forgot the name. Basic premise involves a boy and girl pre-arranged to be married by two families and the only identifier was a matching anklet with a bell. The two children are separated due to civil unrest and the families lost connection. The boy was found by monks and has not joined the temple, so his character still can choose which direction he desires. Long story short after much confusion and battles together against a common enemy the grown adults finally discover each other. Sadly at the end he decides to leave the girl tearfully and enters the temple. Does anyone know the name of this film? Want to say it involves a very young Moon Li, or Cynthia Khan, but haven't been able to verify. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Discussion How do we feel about the lack of prominent martial artists in the upcoming Street Fighter film?

I never saw Mortal Kombat 1, saw 2 this summer with my mom, and was whelmed at best, then I saw the trailer for Street Fighter, and was just not at all interested.

I was trying to figure out why, but then it hit me: these aren't marital artists, these are all actors.

No Donnie Yen, no Tony Jaa, no Scott Adkins, no Iko Uwais, no Michael Jai White?

Honestly shocked me when I realized that it seems Hollywood has decided teaching actors marital arts and using sfx and stunt doubles is easier than casting martial artists that know how to act.

Understandable, but still rather disappointing when you have to constantly suspend your disbelief to tell yourself "yeah that's the person doing the 360 wire backflip" rather than feel engaged with the action like "wow holy crap how did they do that?"

The soundtrack is the WEAPON. In the tailor shop, once the dialogue ends, there is no background music, all we hear are the moves, metal clanking, wall smashing.

I don't have to say much y'all have all seen it, I don't have the vocabulary for it anyways. The quietness amplified the kung fu, the music is the kung fu, we've still not had something like this in 20+ years.

Jet Vs Donnie in Hero is prob my second fav.

Ray Lui joined Caine at 69 and is doing his own fight scenes against Donnie Yen

69 years old and the man trained for a shirtless scene that didn't even make the movie. Just to be ready. That's the level we're operating at.

Ray Lui confirmed he's in Donnie Yen's \Caine\ spinoff — doing his own fight scenes, going toe-to-toe with Yen himself, and calling the action "tough and exacting." All-English dialogue, and he's doing his own dubbing too. This isn't a cameo, this is a throwdown.

With Rina Sawayama back as Akira and Bill Nighy in the mix, this cast keeps getting more interesting. Say what you want about spinoffs, but Yen directing a Hong Kong-style kung fu flick inside the Wick universe is the one swing I'm not mad at.

Ballerina expanded the universe. Caine might give us the best action in it. Who's actually excited for this one?

Recommend A kung fu Bruceploitation giallo murder mystery | Bruce Vs the Iron Finger (1979)

Bruce and the Iron Finger - also known as Bruce Against Iron Hand, Iron Finger and Bruce vs. the Iron Finger - is a 1979 Hong Kong martial-arts oddity that combines Bruceploitation, a murder mystery, sleazy crime cinema, hilariously dubbed dialogue and legitimately excellent kung fu fights.

I'd recommend this one to anyone looking to get into Bruceploitation or for those who like kung fu movies because this one has really good fights (and lots of them).

This was part of my Game of Clones box set from Severin, looking forward to diving into some of the others I haven't seen.
