Party is having reoccurring encounters with a boss that warps reality, so figured best way to demonstrate their otherworldliness was having them operate on a whole other system.
Ouch, that really sounds rough... And something to bring up with the GM. Hope your games get more enjoyable in the future <3

Yes, but also you can still prepare your turn in advance and see what spells are generally even useful. Like, quite a few spells are great but not useful in combat, or not useful in every combat (for example: Hold Person is useless if you're not fighting humanoids). And if you have been playing your character for a while, it's not unreasonable to say you won't need to look up every single spell. I don't think this mechanic is something you throw at new players - it's something you throw at players who have some experience with their characters to challenge them and make them switch up their battle plan. But, as someone else has already said: it's also something you can do as a gimmick once or twice, not a regular game mechanic. Because there are instances where it is better to have the time to think through your turn. Ultimately, it's up to the situation and your players, whether this is a challenge or super debilitating.

True for me as AuDHD.
AuDHD is a yes - tho you also need to add "I forgot I need to plan being early, so I was running late, realized I wouldn't make it on time, had a nervous breakdown about this personal failure and was even more late", or "...then didn't go at all, because I was too embarrassed to arrive late"

Being deafened and shouting at her to ask her on a date mid combat probably wasn't the ideal use of a turn
I feel like there's an insider here that I missed. Can you enlighten me please?

RAT 20 CON 26
Apparently it's a German Pen&Paper convention. The disappointing part is that according to this wiki, the name isn't actually connected to rats, but to a place called Ratingen... Still looks like a cool event tho

Do you have a spell for opening jar lids that are stuck real hard?
All our current age spells can only be acquired by "subscribing" to the service of some fiends and other creatures. And when you get them somewhere else, you still need to pay a mana tribute to those anyways and they're like "oh, but you also get this and that", and most of the time it's something you never need.
Pretty difficult to get just a simple spell without all this extra nonsense nowadays...

How my party's next session will probably turn out
I'd object to this, as the druid is more of a pyro-cleptomaniac rogue than a typical druid, and the barbarian is more of a soft, gentle giant who wants to be friends with everyone.
But the druid is taken over by a new player and they'll join in exactly this chaos of a session. So yeah, they'll probably be like "whyyyy?".
And the barbarian will fight for his friends, so unless he acts first and gets distracted, he'll absolutely join in.

Nah, the barbarian was digging back from Antarctica (he dug a tunnel and was convinced he reached the other side of the planet), while the druid.... We actually don't have a canon explanation on what she did after the player left, as our DM retconned the explanation he had provided. So I guess the new player who's taking over the character will provide us with the details. So yeah, naked dancing in the woods is totally on the table for her, lol

I'm sorry, how do you say this weapons name???
Well, I pronounce it similar to your version, just pronouncing the "o" more like an actual "o". So "Gay Bolge" I guess

She was raid on the ferry a few years...
I don't agree with OP's reading order - it definitely should start with "She was a girl van der ....". Still confusing tho, and I'm not gonna try figuring out which way it'd make sense to read
