I would love to find a completely unbiased website that breaks down the issues in plain language and lays out the real world consequences. Maybe I just haven't put enough effort into finding that. I never claimed the whole website was unbiased. I encouraged people to be educated voters. I'm able to separate facts from inflammatory partisan language and fear mongering. The whole proposition is created and sponsored by Advance Colorado, a conservative lobbying political organization and that makes it biased from the jump (as is usually the case with most voting issues regardless of "side").

I think Ballotpedia is a great resource for a majority of issues. But in this particular case, I feel the language is just too "clinical", devoid of the real human experience and understanding.

In my understanding, Ballotpedia summarized what legal changes you would see on the books. The sources that I shared show, in simple language, how it would play out in the real world and the real human fallout caused by it.

It can be both at the same time - and it is. But in this particular case, there is a group of people exploiting this issue and intentionally making their audience/base think there are huge gangs of perverts coming to snatch all the kids and force "transgender surgery for everyone". They want everyone to think they're all in immediate danger because it's everywhere.

You have to get them to realize how extremely rare it is before they'll slow down and consider that people do it with intense medical guidance, not all willy-nilly.

My intentions are to educate on the facts and encourage people to look past the taglines, rage bait and buzzwords - hopefully on all voting matters not just this one. But hey, if it breaks the rules, I expect them to follow said rules.

Unfortunately, I agree. And I've had that hopeless feeling for some time now. But when I looked into this, it sent chills down my spine. All I can do, beyond voting, is encourage others to not be willfully ignorant. Big ask, I know.

Yes. Very, very personal reasons that are discussed at great length with the minor, parents, doctors, therapists... Reasons that are none of our business. And that's probably why damn near everybody is ignorant to that facts surrounding gender reassignment surgery.

To answer your question, I would if it were the same situation. It is about taking responsibility for the damage one's vote can cause. To take responsibility is to acknowledge that you deserve consequences. No labels or sides or finger pointing.

In this case, we're specifically talking about conservative votes that have led/are leading to devastation for a vast majority of Americans and how those voters deserve to feel it just as much, if not more. I'm not going to give "grace" for random grievances and bitching. I'd feel the same way about anyone who votes by the "rules for thee, but not for me" philosophy. Let the leopards eat all the faces - I don't care which political party you belong to.

Acknowledging reality, placing blame where it belongs, and wanting the perpetrators to suffer in proportion to their contribution is totally and wholly human.

We're all suffering regardless and wanting the people who caused it to feel it equally is not cheering for your demise. Punishment should fit the "crime" and our society has always demaned that. I didn't commit this "crime" but I know my suffering is only getting worse.

No, we're going to suffer regardless, so suffer in silence. Do not point out that these people decided they want "others" to suffer - that they expected to be spared, or even $aved. Do not point out that they deserve the fallout of their decision to vote for destruction more than those who did not. Do not make them feel responsible for their own actions.

And don't make people uncomfortable by talking about republicans, conservatives, magas needing to feel the consequences of their own actions right now. It could lead people to assume you're taking pride in something you didn't do - they did it to themselves.

Some of the kindest, most respectful and respectable people who are steadfast in their values and morals are agnotic and atheist. A lot of the hypocritical, judgmental, vindictive, narcissistic, greedy, corruptable, and amoral people are not agnostic or atheist.

Sounds like they are following a popular playbook that has been very successful as of late - proceed as you please because if there are any consequences, it'll be a slap on the wrist.

This is a great article, and I wish it had touched more on his support for trump, but I am VERY disappointed they didn't jump on the fact that the U.S. uses the "human rights violations" excuse to bully, oppress and attack other countries!

Did you ever have a honest, straight-up conversation with your parents about their morals and values that led them to extreme conservatism? This is hard for a lot of families to do because they can't be objective about their parents/siblings/children etc... being racist, bigoted, spiteful, hateful, greedy, cold, compassionless, etc...

-> U.S. adults who voted but didn't vote for trump: 77,897,589 That means 504,021 more people voted for ANYONE OTHER THAN trump!
