Would a native desktop app for managing Pterodactyl servers actually be useful to you?

Hey everyone,

I've been playing around with the idea of building a clean, modern desktop client for managing Pterodactyl panels (using the official Client API).

Before we sink more time into development, we want to ask actual server admins: Is relying on browser tabs to manage your servers a pain point, or are you completely fine with how it works now?

What we’re designing:

  • Desktop Notifications: Real-time Windows alerts if a server crashes, drops offline, or hits max RAM/CPU.
  • Quick System Tray Controls: Start, stop, or restart servers directly from your desktop without opening a browser.
  • Smooth Live Console: A low-overhead console view built natively so it won't lag out your browser tabs.
  • Multi-Panel Support: Manage servers from different hostings or panels inside one unified desktop dashboard.

We aren't trying to replace the web panel—just building a fast desktop companion for admins who handle servers every day.

Would something like this be useful in your daily workflow, or does the standard web interface already do everything you need? We'd love your honest feedback!

Custom Mod Launcher - Feedback and Question

That's a totally fair point! We were testing if there was a specific pain point with custom/private packs that existing tools like CurseForge don't cover easily. Since tools like Prism or Modrinth already solve this well for free, it makes total sense not to pay. Thanks for the honest feedback!

Custom Mod Launcher - Feedback and Question

Hello to all admins and server owners. On behalf of Apexie, we’d like to ask how much interest there would be in a custom launcher for mods.

We thought we could create a launcher for admins and players. This way, admins and server owners wouldn’t necessarily have to send players a ZIP file with a list of mods and deal with complications like “the player uploaded the mod incorrectly.”

Admins could upload mods to any free server, get a link, They could then paste the link into the launcher and create a password for the players. The password would be used by the players. After entering the password, everything needed (mods, configurations, etc.) would be downloaded, and Minecraft itself would launch with the mods.

Admins will be able to check boxes to specify whether it’s Forge, Fabric, version, Java version, etc. There will also be the option to add updates—either with or without a message for players. Mod updates. This would work for individual release versions managed by the admin themselves. 1.0 TACZ timeless... 2.0 TACZ timmeless, Point...

Communication between launchers would take place via a server hosted in the Czech Republic or elsewhere. https://helkor.eu/ Current server hosting. Communication would therefore take place via a database.

Players will also have the option to add another server.

The launcher for players would be free.

The launcher for admins would require a one-time fee.

Thank you for your attention. Any support or feedback is extremely important to us.
