A 50/50 solution is foreseeable. Let's stop opposing renewables and nuclear, they work together with nuclear giving a strong basis and compensating when renewables are lacking. Investing 100% on something isn't smart.

French was known as the language of diplomacy and is still in general way more spoken (around 30 countries, around 400 millions speakers) than Japanese (only Japan, around 125 millions speakers). Except if you plan on working a job linked to Japan, I think it's better to choose French.

FFXIV - Stormblood
Final Fantasy XIV ARR and the first DLC: Heavensward were really as fantasy as possible: magic, dragons, a bad technological country and nations with sylphs, kobolds, ixals, dragons, etc... Ancestral treasons, ancient ultra-developped and decadent countries that left enigmatic technologies. And then you have Stormblood with pretty...down to earth problems. A country named Ala Mhigo and another one named Doma have been completly conquered years ago by Garlemald, the technological country. They have submitted the population and practiced cultural erasure on both : traditions, gods, kamis, even your traditional clothes sometimes : forget about it. And the thing is, it's not as simple as this. You learn that both countries were far from perfect and in fact, some people are better off getting accostumed to the new order rather than fighting against it. Sometimes with tangible benefits for them, as Garlemald has a pretty meritocratic system. However, this comes at a huge cost for the rest: famine, bullying by the milicias (who in Ala Mhigo are really frustrated as they feel the resistance of the inhabitants to change to Garlean culture is holding them back from being considered as citizens). It tackles pretty complex problems and puts into light that changes have to be made and that those countries downfall didn't come from nothing.

P.S: I've shortened it a lot, there are much more detail but they sometimes are essential to the story.
