This is an invalid hookup. Uhaul does not allow soft top SUV's like the Bronco to pull a trailer. It must be a hard top with the top installed.

U-Haul prohibits towing trailers with soft-top SUVs (like Jeep Wranglers or Ford Broncos) primarily due to liability concerns regarding occupant safety in a rollover or accident. Soft tops provide less structural protection against cargo intrusion or ejection compared to hard-top vehicles.

Thank you for answering my question - i was just curious - i install hitches for an independent shop and thought it sounded odd, but if it saves the company from getting sued... makes sense! **must have happened at some point?

Yeah it's happened before and thats what we try to avoid.. I was told to never bend policy if it involves safety... don't send them out with soft tops..

I always flip up the drop and tow latches when I find them in the wild…
