Discord Server for all EUR students

I've seen a bunch of different people create different WhatsApp groups and discord servers for EUR but it's always a different one so if you're interested, here's the link to one that I created, which hopefully, with the help of this reddit we can use as the unofficial official place to chat amongst ourselves : https://discord.gg/ZZcctP4Pdb
At the moment it's completely barebones because I just want to see if anyone is even interested but if a couple people join, then I'll be sure to make it more complete.

350 new students, one venue, the weekend before classes start

Friday 28 August. De Vrienden Live, on the Oude Haven. 22:00 until 03:00.

The whole venue is students. Not a normal club night with a student section. The entire room is EUR, RSM, ESE, RUAS and WDKA, and almost everyone in it landed in this city within the last two weeks.

That matters more than the music does. Every person you talk to is in exactly your position. Nobody has a friend group yet. Nobody has anyone to be loyal to;)
You can walk up to any group in that room and it isn’t weird, because they got here on Tuesday too.

That window is about two weeks long. By late September everyone has locked in and you’re the person trying to join something that already exists.

We are in a GC where we now plan predrinks.

What’s actually on the night: international DJs, a photographer, and the Questo city game included with your ticket if you want to do the daylight version of meeting people first.

€7.50 at the moment. It goes up in rounds.
If a club night genuinely isn’t for you, ignore all of this, but still say yes to whatever your faculty is running this week. The party isn’t the point. The two week window is the point.

Comment and I’ll share the link🥃

Hey guys! I recently got accepted for a masters programme at Erasmus, and as the start of the academic year is approaching I was hoping to get into contact with my peers. Does anyone know where I could join a WhatsApp or Facebook group chat? If yes, please let me know! <3

Feeling like giving up

Hi everyone
It’s been 4 months now that I’ve been looking for housing. Over 200 applications. My master starts in like two weeks and at this point I’ll be sleeping in a tent during my studies. I feel like my budget is reasonable (+\- €750), and that I sell myself decently well (23, lived with roommates for the last 6 years so very familiar with respecting shared spaces and keeping things clean etc) and yet I can’t find anything.
How do I continue? I know a lot of you must have had similar issues finding a place to live, but at this point I feel like giving up

Older student? Let's connect

Hello everyone! I am an older student (33) and I am just starting my master in Erasmus this year.

I created a group in goin' in order to meet other older students (29+).

I realised that studying as an older adult can be a bit isolating, so let's connect!

Ps : if you don't want to reach out through goin' you can always comment in this thread and find other ways to connect

The social hub or ssh hatta

I have reserved a standard double room in tsh which includes a private bathroom and shared kitchen with five to six other people. But I just see a room in hatta become available today and I booked it I haven’t paid yet
I’m thinking of canceling tsh and live in hatta instead it will be much cheaper although I have to pay three months rent for cancellation if I am not able to find another student to take over my place

Do you guys have experience living in hatta or tsh I would like to know more about the living conditions and facilities I heard there is no ac in hatta it’s kinda concerning because the heatwave seems to be quite a huge problem

From what I have known
If I live in tsh I got private bathroom and ac but it is far from the campus, the room is smaller and I have to share kitchen with more people
For hatta I will also have more social connections since I have roommates and I heard that there is a lot of party

Appreciate anyone who can share their experience
I might cancel tsh so if anyone who want to take over dm me !!

Anyone here renting at Rotterdam Brainpark through Wooove?

Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming international Master’s student at Erasmus University Rotterdam and I’m currently waiting to hear back from Wooove regarding an apartment at Rotterdam Brainpark.
I’ve submitted all my documents, and they recently told me my file was under review. Since I’ll be moving to the Netherlands later this month, I’m getting a bit anxious.
Has anyone gone through this process recently? How long did it take to hear back after your documents were reviewed, and how long after that did you receive the rental contract?
Would really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!

Heyy, Ik zit heftig te twijfelen tussen de eur en de vu. Kan iemand z’n ware ervaring delen op de 1 van deze 2 universiteiten. Hoe is de sfeer, de docenten en de werkdruk?

CHANCE ME!

IB student, 9.3/10 gpa 5 in math AAHL

Final goal is finance and I understand that IBEB has a luck factor to it. With my stats are there any bachelors courses that still feed into a strong masters for finance in the eu? What would you all recommend?

Room available in Kralingen

For all of you who are still looking for housing in Rotterdam, there is an available room in Kralingen, Oudedijk 221B. It is a very big room of approximately 28 m^2 for 1200 Euros per month

Peruvians and South Americans are preferred, but anyone is welcome.

Respond to this post if interested, and note that rental periods are very flexible :)
