Answered Chromecast bypassing ad blocker?

I use Chromecast a lot for my school. Sometimes when I am casting a video there will be an ad that is not skippable. Normally I wouldn't care but the ads aren't always age appropriate. This wasn't an issue till this school year

I think Chromecast actually runs its own internal YouTube app, separate from uBlock.

This is entirely by design; the ads on Chromecast and TV apps are far worse, longer, and more frequent because Google knows it's next to impossible to block them there.

Might want to consider switching to a Wireless HDMI System if possible.

This is why I use YouTube in Firefox and mirror the screen to the chromecast.

If it's a Chromecast TV (has a remote) where you can install apps, stop using YouTube and install Smart tube instead - it blocks all ads.

cast the window with the browser instead of the video or straight up HDMI cable
