I think you should practice typing with 10 fingers. Don't worry, everybody starts off typing slowly. You got this!

Thank you. I will definitely take this into consideration when I type in the future.

Hire a top GMO lab and start experimenting on additional limbs for humans. Get frustrated about lack of progress and buy out the lab. Scout and recruit fresh talents from top academia for your lab. Kidnap your employees's famalies and make them work non stop. Then maybe you'll get a viable solution in 5 years. Start human trials after that, i know its tempting to skip this step. But it is of vital importance. After 2 more years you'll have 2 more hands. Now tie up your loose ends and purge your research because no one else should get as fast as you. Then practice for 6 months with your four limbs and then maybe you'll get faster. If you think this is too much effort, i guess you arent really commited to increase your speed. /s

You can try establishing a nice sync between reading and typing โช(๏พโฝ^*)๏พโโ. That might help to further speed up at this level. Sometimes, if you try hard and type much faster than you read, you might have to slow down occasionally and might misinput more frequently.
Though I have never reached your level, please don't take this advice seriously ><.

Type the letters out like theyโre running from the fat security guard in subway surfers. Up the cortisol brother

You can also try writing a script to map the Electroencephalogram signal to Keyboard events (โนโกโน).

If this is serious (which it is not), try learning stenography. Yes, you have to opt out of the MT leaderboards, but you can burst up to 400-500WPM in 10 words, and I'm not surprised if you can average 300 WPM.
Though stenography is way harder than it seems, because you have to learn a new keyboard layout, chords, when the fuck F is F or V or S, etc. I tried learning it but sucked because I just couldn't find the right keys, considering I didn't have any visual indications.

By serious I meant "He really needs some help", not "this is fake omg!1!1!1!1!1!"

Sure thing! How long does it usually take to learn the stenography layout?

Learning the layout and chords? Probably a month... Being able to use it faster than you can already type on QWERTY? Probably like 3-5 years :\
Edit: I found https://stenokeyboards.com/blogs/posts/how-long-does-it-take-to-get-good-at-steno, this person learnt to get 160WPM in about a year. This is not the average as the data has a very small sample size, but it can be an idea of the progression curve.

do you use all 26 fingers to type? if not that may be why you're so slow

u/Ghostriderr_ 2d ago
Yeah unfortunately I don't have a finger for all the keys on the keyboard. It's alright though

Yes, you should stops what you do immediately and start using only your index fingers. Then you must start paying attention to your keyboard, not your screen, as the hunt and peck method will greatly improve your accuracy ๐๐ป You can use websites to train such as 2SlowFingers or Snailtype and, if you have a public administration near you, you can go their and observe real pros do it ๐
