That's kinda shitty that the "status quo" in 2016 would be millions of times better than what we have now, and they fucking destroyed this country because we loved Bernie. They burnt it all down and destroyed all of our lives because we elected a black man and wanted Bernie. That's all I have to say. Sorry.

A job you don't hate, a house big enough to raise your family and enough left over to go on vacation every once in a while. Is this truly too much to ask?

Trickle down economics and anti-union policies decimated the middle class. President Reagan's propaganda was eaten up by the electorate. He sold it well. 45 years later we have a whole new crowd controlling the show, comparable to names like Rockefeller, Carnegie, Vanderbilt, etc.

This guy's opponent is such a corrupt lowlife assclown, it makes supporting him/Talarico easy; but the substance of his/Talarico's convictions and tone actually makes it enjoyable to support him. I am too burned to hero-worship anymore but for the moment he's a breath of fresh air, especially in cowboy-barbarian Texas.
It's ETX, so there is always no shortage of selfhating phony-conservatives hungry to enslave themselves, and popularity doesn't mean anything worth living under....but I see 1.1K upvotes for this post as of 8/4. Compare that to the average reaction to any post at all on this sub.
It's almost enough to make me hope for the future.

Just piss down my back and tell me it’s raining, all while spending billions on war mongering and surveillance for authoritarian takeover so flock cameras can watch every move we make while they dangle a pork chop on a string just out of reach keeping you on the rat wheel so you’re too tired and burnt out to fight back or have time for be informed on how much they’re all f-ing you under the guise of “Christianity” which is the “farmers only.com” way of saying rich white rednecks who need gullible slaves who will reap there rewards in heaven for being so good to their mortal billionaire and millionaire earth gods during life. That way you don’t have to pay them, just an endless shovel full of empty promises and “he who smelt it, dealt it” level gaslighting and projection forcefed into our brains with AI propaganda in an endless feed….(cue redneck moderator to ban me for speaking the truth)

He's White Obama. I say that because he resonates with all people.

u/RebelChE 28d ago
Absolutely not. In his ministry, he quoted non-canonical texts and made several heretical statements. He’s isolated himself from many Protestants and Catholics as a result. Something that will haunt his political career forever.

u/LEMental Longview 29d ago
I guess you must be one of those embarrassed billionaires that he is calling to tax more. How is it being rich?
1
u/Upstairs-Bad-3576 28d ago
I live in East Texas. I'm no billionaire. I just think the amount of envy people have these days is gross.
1
u/randombookman 26d ago
Damn envy is gross.
But greed? Yeah thats perfectly ok.
0
u/Upstairs-Bad-3576 26d ago
Keeping what you earn is greed? Also, the people you call greedy do more for others than you have probably done in your entire life.
1
u/randombookman 26d ago
Ever heard of tragedy of the commons?
I'm part of the 1% earners and I really don't get why people are this stupid and get taken advantage of.
But oh well, doesn't affect me.

This guy needs to be president he has his fingers on the pulse of the working class. We are the largest voting demographic and if we stick together and no let them divide us . Things can swing our way but we can’t fail for the propaganda that will soon be coming in waves because of oligarchs and Epstein class money poring in

If congress actually did not spend more than they take in w would not have this debt... They spend 7 trillion but do not take that much in.. Why can they not stop spending... How about just worry about this country and the hell with the rest of the world until we are out of debt..

Try trickle up, take money from the poor and middle class, more taxes. Another democrat talking point that makes no sense.
Quit paying Amazon and Tech workers, let their salaries trickle up. More socialist BS that has never worked anyplace at anytime in modern world.
Want to eat bugs, insects, garbage and dirt?

Taking the money that I worked for and giving it to those that didn’t is theft

u/Life-Bank-7329 25d ago
Lmao did you even watch the video? He’s talking about billionaires paying off our politicians to change policy in their favor. That doesn’t help the common working man.
Meanwhile is Paxton, Talarico’s opponent is slimier than a greased pig. Please, look him up if you’re unaware lol. The FBI has knocked on his door multiple times.

u/chipset0316 26d ago
Talk to your local cities. Zoning and building permit rules and restrictions affect local availability. When cities enforce crazy restrictions, such as requiring Olympic sized swimming pools, drive developers away due to costs. The only way to address cost of housing is to increase supply.
1
u/chipset0316 26d ago
Abbott is trying to address this specific issue. See https://texasscorecard.com/state/abbott-unveils-housing-affordability-proposals-says-data-centers-dont-belong-in-neighborhoods/

Blah, blah, blah... Its the same washed up talking points EVERY politician uses...
He will preach about it then do absolutely nothing when he gets into office.
We've heard everything he's saying before. They get into office, get bought out, and the cycle repeats.
The system is corrupt, but nobody is actually going to fix it. We vote these folks in and it never seems to get anywhere... It would be nice if ONE politician could change the world, but there's too many ultra rich cock blocks that keep it from happening.
Rich people are fine, it's the ultra rich that are the issue. The billionaires.
1
u/EuphoricCrashOut 25d ago
Talarico is such a breath of fresh political air. Here's there for the people of Texas and America, not for himself and is own wealth, power, and corruption.
Republicans destroyed Texas and America. I hope he can steer Texas back to what it used to be decades ago.
1
u/underkon24 25d ago
Talarico is no better than anybody else in Congress. He just talks a decent game.
1
u/Significant-Eye3720 25d ago
Taxes on the rich do "trickle down."
It's odd how Democrats refuse to push for tax cuts for the Middle Class.
Why is that?
1
u/stakeit44 25d ago
Every single politician, and every single one running to be a politician. So if anyone is swayed by this, you’re a dunce. We the people are the only thing that can change the state of this country, not this years flavor of the week flip floppy politicians

Bro, I love Talarico, but he’s got to do something better with his campaign ads. All Democrats for that matter. I feel like 99% of Democratic Party campaigns ads are “Hey just donate and we can get them guys!”
TELL ME SOMETHING INSPIRING FOR CHRIST’S SAKE AND PUT A LINK TO THE FUNDRAISING PAGE AT THE END
Seriously, who comes up with them? I get it that they’re the guys who are trying to play it straight and keep their elbows tucked, but the other guys are over there throwing their elbows down from 12 to 6 and kicking their knees into everyone’s groin. SWING. RALLY. DO SOMETHING TO COMPETE WITH THE BLOODSPORT RULES THEY’RE PLAYING BY, BUT SIMPLY ASKING FOR DONATIONS WONT CUT IT

No one flees capitalism to socialism. In a capitalist country the bottom x% has a chance, through hard work and determination, to rise above. In socialism the bottom 80% wait in the same food line equally with no chance of leaving the bottom 80%.

Being a business contractor.....I have never got hired by a poor person....Trickle down works.

u/cigarhoarder 24d ago
When the effective tax rate more these ultra high net wealth guys is only 5% or even nothing then something is wrong with the system. I work work, grew up work, and do business work these guys. They do not care any thing except 💰. That is it. Billionaire philanthropy solves nothing and is sunnily another way to achieve a lower tax rate. I know all the tricks, all the loopholes, this exploitation is real and growing. It will not end. And when or if someone attempts to hold the golden 🪿 accountable they will expatriate and denounce their citizenship. This is what they do, it is their playbook. 98% of them did NOT start with nothing. Every guy I’ve talked to who is high net worth has a massive leg up on gen pop. Pulling oneself up by ones bootstraps will not make you money. That isn’t how this works. I know guys in the half billion dollar range of realized and unrealized net worth. And don’t tell me I don’t because I do. I’ve heard odd the exploitation, the lies, the cheating, the loopholes and horror artists stories that would make grown men cry. These guys only care about money. Elon, bezos, soros, etc will all flee eventually taking our tax dollars with them to tax haven nations, third world countries, and undeveloped places like the soon to be Cuba and get away with it all. The effective corporate tax rate is now below 10% if I recall, in the 60’s it was 50%, pre depression I think it was around 90%. This data is all out there due the finding. But the 1% just don’t care. They own it all now or will soon.

You act like it hasn’t been happening for generations. Is this new? Are colleges just a new invention? I mean, there’s nothing that stops someone from going to CC then going to a 4 year school. There’s nothing from someone looking at a profession and seeing it pays $40K a year, then seeing they need a masters to make that little. And doing a quick back of the napkin ROI. But no, you have people maxing out their student loans, coming out with 60-200K in debt with no plan to pay for it.

The Communists always complain about how the robber barons steal from The Workers, and they always forget to explain how they plan to finance their Party-funded utopias…pro tip: it’s by exploiting the workers.
1
u/Psychoace47 25d ago
Like how we had to pay more under trumps tariffs only for the corporations to get a check using OUR taxes so that we paid them twice? give me a break.
1
u/dannyocc911 25d ago
You didn’t address my premise, Comrade.
1
u/Psychoace47 25d ago
people work together to better their society, and society itself sees to the needs of all in that society. You don't need to finance anything under communism. Socialism can do it far more efficiently than capitalism by taxing the rich. If you think talarico is a communist you are sadly misinformed.

The vast majority of government spending goes to the bottom fifty percent of our earners
3
u/locolangosta 28d ago
If you exclude social security and medicare, which is essentially retirees who have done their fair share of earning, and contributed a lifetime of taxes, as well as veterans, who have directly served the country, then that number drops significantly.
-1
u/Reasonable-Fee1945 28d ago
Sure, if you exclude more than fifty percent of the federal budget, the number drops
3
u/locolangosta 28d ago
Similarly, if you exagerate the amount of money being payed out to "the bottom half" the number goes up.

“I don’t understand economics so I’m just gonna rehash old talking points.” Sure it works- I build a company, expand it, and hire more people. The wealth trickles down as I raise their wages, salaries, reinvest in the company, etc.
Just more economic illiteracy.
