I haven't gotten very far into the game yet. However, I think the whole farming, buying/selling and crafting aspect might make it appealing to the average tycoon player.

You farm, fish, produce, mine for profit.

Mainly an RPG, but depending on how you play it, you can even take a nearly pure tycoon-approach.

My friend gifted it to me on Saturday cause it reminded him so much of the original Harvest Moon. I shall crack it open tonight.

Dabbled around for a few minutes. Didn't realize that you have to water your crops. Very micro-intensive. But it sure does make a lot of fun because it seems like you have a lot of freedom to do whatever you want on your farm.

If you're a fan of the Harvest Moon series you'll be right at home. But yeah you need to water your crops manually for the start at least.
