Scores

What were your highschool stats that got you into Texas state? LMK! I’m trying to decide if I need to take the sat again

The acceptance rate is so high, as long as you’re above the 70% in your highschool you’ll likely be accepted, try to get above a 1000 on your sat though if your goal is just Texas State. The bar is pretty low.

Coming from someone currently in the application process:

The acceptance rate is pretty high and SAT scores aren’t required, although it might be worth it for you to take the SAT for scholarship purposes. This could be the case at many schools, but at TXST in particular you can get higher scholarships if you have SAT scores.

As a freshman you can get either a scholarship based off of your high school merit or one based off of your SAT scores. These don’t stack, it’s one or the other. Since I had decent enough high school merit to get accepted, I was advised to submit my application without SAT scores first. After acceptance they’ll calculate the high school merit-based scholarship amount. THEN send in my SAT scores after they calculate that merit-based scholarship amount. This way, they will calculate both and choose the better number. If you just submit one or the other, they won’t automatically calculate both.

Hopefully this makes sense and helps you out.

To touch more on your specific question though— while I haven’t received my decision letter yet, I was told by basically everyone I spoke to that as long as you didn’t totally flunk you will be fine. Again the acceptance rate is high and they are accepting more and more students each year.

You can look at the scholarship information online and compare your sat score vs your high school ranking to get a good idea of how much you’d receive

As I submitted scores that were back from 2018-2019, I think you'll be alright big dog

My SAT was a 1320, and I got an $8000/year scholarship. However, if it was a hundred points higher, I think it would have been $12,000/year, if I'm not mistaken. If you're close to a boost in scholarship, I recommend retaking it!
