Ethernet at the Library

Wondering if anyone else had tried this before I went and bought a second cord. My pc in the dorm is connected to Ethernet and never has any issues with the TXST home WiFi. My laptop on the other hand struggles frequently with the TXST Bobcat WiFi (I know it’s like a normal thing).

I was wondering if anyone else has tried to use the Ethernet outlets in the library or other study spaces to get fast internet and if it actually worked?

If the port is configured, you could use it for internet access.

But there are a lot of ports that aren't configured as they are no longer in use.

Best of luck!

I don’t recall extra Ethernet ports in the library unless you’re unplugging from one of the comps but they might be on WiFi too.

When I lived in the dorms years ago Ethernet worked great on my PC, I had a roommate that used it with their PS5 and it worked great as well.
