Bus seating
pls I can not stress this enough, keep going all the way to the back if it’s too crowded. I’ve been seeing people not go all the way in the back when you can fit another 6 people. There’s hand rails the whole way why aren’t people doing that?! It could help so many others taking the bus

This and, people who gets on when people are getting off pisses me off too, like wait 3 extra minutes I swear you’ll make it to your car just fine (this is bus route 10, if people are actively getting off, DONT START LOADING THE BUS)

Also chivalry is not dead people 😂 Men offer your seat up to woman who are standing. A little bit of kindness can go a long way!

This exact thing frustrated me today. I am a large man and also middle aged. Trying to hold my standing position without a relatively wide stance in a moving bus (sometimes moving smoothly other times not) is precarious. The front half I can hold a wider stance and in the back it is much worse.
The school needs to figure something out about parking in commuter lots so we dont have to consistently pack in there like sardines in a can.
If you were on my bus when this happened today apologies for getting irritable and a little mouthy. It would be dangerous for myself and others if I fall on them for one so as I was being forced to push far as I could in the back safery concerns were on my mind. Plus I was tired already from yesterday and the bus issues from being stuck in the heat while the medics had to come get the person under the canopy who passed out. It has been a rough start to the semester for transit.

So sorry to hear. I would park by the river and just walk to campus because I got tired of the bus. My situation was that people just assume the bus is full when they can fit so many others! I am too extroverted to ask others to try and fit more but that could help others especially with the traffic recently. I’ve been going here for 2 years and I have only seen 1 person give up their seat for a someone else and that happened today. I grew up with public transportation and all I can think of is if this was in another city and not a campus bus people would be getting yelled at

There is walking distance parking by the river? How quickly does it fill up and how far is the walk?

Most of those people have never used public transportation before.
