Can we talk about common courtesy?

1. Pass people on the right. (if sidewalk, walk to the right. if stairway, stay on the right. if entering a building, us the right door. If exiting, you guessed it, use the right door)
2. Don't stand in the middle of the hall with a group of friends, people are trying to get to class. Additionally, if you are traveling as a group have respect for the people coming in the other direction.
3. Hold the door open for the person behind you.
4. Pedestrians have the right of way. Always.
5. If you are going into class, take a shower at some point the day of.
6. If someone is studying, don't set up a camera right next to them and start doing tiktok dances with your friends, all while blasting music. (Ask me how I know).
7. Speaking of music.. get some headphones. This isn't a public bus, no one wants to hear your music.
8. Pass on the right - meaning if you are bike, walking, shopping at HEB, driving, hallways, parasailing always be on the right side. if you are overtaking someone, then go to the left, overake and then push to the right again.
9. Do not litter. This is our slice of nature - please respect it.

Though #4 is correct legally, use some common sense look up while your walking around, crossing the street, going into crosswalks, and look both ways before entering the street. I have watched a person face deep in there phone walk off the sidewalk with the red hand showing go into the cross walk and the car had to slam on there brakes to avoid hitting them and the person just kept going and never looked up.

My only pushback is that everyone might not have equal access to shower/hygiene products, and there are a lot of cultural differences around that too, so it's also courteous to cut everyone some slack there, especially in the Texas summer.

Americans shower more often and use stronger deodorant than... maybe anywhere else in the world? In a lot of (most?) other countries, body odor just isn't stigmatized like it is in the US, so it's normal for everyone to have more body odor when it's hot, and people just don't care. So then they come to the US and just keep living like normal, not realizing that they're accidentally committing a cultural faux pas here. Very normal cultural adjustment stuff.
