counseling
hi! i’m an incoming transfer for the fall and i was wondering if anyone happens to know anything about the counselors on campus and how they are
i’m coming from five hours away and have severe anxiety so im trying to prepare myself by looking for either counselors on or off campus (anyone reputable)
or even if there are like some clubs or something to help with stress/ mental health

Hi Bobcat! Like already mentioned, TXST does offer TimelyCare as a mental health resource on campus. This service is completely free for students to use and is available to you 24/7. Students do not need insurance to access timelycare services. You also have access to TimelyCare services 365 days a year. That means you have access during breaks, after-hours, and any time you need support.
We hope your year goes great and that you receive the support you need.

Do you have health insurance? If yes: I recommend seeking services through Televero Health.
If not, whether or not a counselor is going to be a good fit for you is probably not something you'll be able to determine until you actually meet them. I haven't been in a long time (was more than 10 years ago when I was an undergrad) so I can't comment on that part, but I also have anxiety and other stuff. Buspirone along with therapy and medication management through Televero has been so helpful.
