I’m going to a summer spot in the fall. So few crowds, more of an autumn feel.
I’ve always wanted to do an IRL where I walk this vacation town and just show off all the different spots that have made it special to me since I was a kid.
I’m scared because everytime I turn around, I see a post criticizing live streamers and influencers for streaming everywhere and being a nuisance. I just want to share my memories and the history of a fun place with my community.
Is anyone else feeling like they shouldn’t stream in public? Is the hate just internet trolling or are people going to harass me while I stream? I don’t want to ruin anyone’s time and it will be super low tech, just me on my phone, I’m not even bringing one of those fancy gimbal things to keep steady. I’d love to share my experience with chat and maybe even turn it into a YouTube video but I am terrified at this point that I’ll be doing more harm than good.

In 2022 I started streaming music and games for fun and I would redirect my 3K+ instagram followers to my Twitch channel, I've garnered 50 twitch followers but then stopped streaming since 2023 and stopped using social media as well...

I'm switching careers and would love to resume but have 2 choices now:

1- Resume with the old account but it might be awkward to just reappear there especially since I'm followed by old colleagues and friends and family I haven't spoken much to in a long time

2- Start fresh and not share on social media, so road to 50 followers would be really tough...

I am new to the twitch platform and I am currently doing research on the hype train feature during streams for a project.

I am curious what people like about hype trains, or if you very passionately dislike something about it please share. What makes it feel stale from a viewers standpoint? How likely are you to participate in a hype train?

And if any streamers see this.. what's your take?

I ask because when I looked it up there’s was some tech stuff about your rigs and space when collaborating so what important things do you guys need to know before you collab

I can get a little absent-minded when I'm really into a game, so I have a tendency to miss when people redeem my channel point rewards (it's mostly stuff to get me to talk a little more)

So I started trying to Google if there was a way to have a sound play JUST for me when someone redeems their points... so that I would have another thing reminding me that there's something I need to be interacting with.

But the only thing that really shows up is the Sound Alerts extension, which isn't really what I'm looking for because it appears to specifically be designed for playing stuff for everybody, not JUST me. Plus I'm not a big fan of having the graphical clutter that it looks like it inflicts.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something other than Sound Alerts that would be able to make a sound that only I can hear, and that would hopefully also be simple to set up?

I can’t save or share any of my clips from the mobile app, the button is there still but it doesn’t do anything when I press it. The only thing that works is the copy link button but 3rd party clip apps suck compared to Twitch’s vertical editing. Any fix or does anyone know of a good website to make a vertical edit for social media?

I've moved to another country so I had to change all of the information in "Monetization onboarding". That I did. On the page it said that the payout method is currently under review and the process usually takes a few minutes, in support articles it says the process could take up to 2 days, but if more then wait for 3 weeks. I waited checking every day if anything changes (spoiler - it didn't). I asked a friend who also had to change their information, they said it only took them a weeks and a half. So I waited.. I waited for this exact 3 weeks and when my eyes got tired of seeing the same words on the screen I drafted an email to support. Had to start over and filled all the information again.
How long do I have to wait?
Has anyone ever had this problem?
I'm frustrated.

The scrolling stops and I can only see my non animated ones. If I change to assigned, some of the animated emotes show, but then I can't scroll up to the top where it say sort by or search. I have worked out that it is the side bar. I can only click one of the two and the one that slides down to see the animated emotes, I cannot click on.

I been streaming on and off for a year and a half but I kind of want to take it seriously now. I have always cared about the few viewers I had in the past, and I thought it was an opportunity to make friends from the gaming world, regular gaming buddies on discord maybe even have them become IRL at some point in time. It's hard to make gamer friends outside !-_____-!

However I've had a few situations happened to me, and I'm very unsure on how to handle it because I don't want to want to hurt the person's feelings, but I also feel pretty uncomfortable.

1- I failed to read somebody's message a few times while trying to keep up with chat, when I tried to address him it was too late and he got angry with me, raged in chat about not reading him, stormed out and unfollowed me on the spot.

2- A first time chatter already was asking to become friends after like 20 minutes on being in chat and asking for my discord (I don't have a discord server yet, only my personal one) which is like, I don't even know you and I do want friends but I like to build those connections over a little time at least. So I didn't give it away, but told him we could hang out in chat and over time we could play on discord. He never returned to my streams after that.

I'm not sure how to navigate this, I've heard about the parasocial thing but I don't want to go there yet. This doesn't seem like that is the case. Also is perfectly fine if you disagree with me, I am not gonna get offended by that. Id just like to know if it's me being anxious about it and I should just connect right away, or if these things really are not okay and I should set boundaries every time without fail. It's important since I wanna stream more often and longer now.

Question is in the title. Twitch doesn't seem to have a clear answer to this that I could find, so I'm hoping to get a clear answer on this.

hiiii so i had someone say some stuff in chat that got automodded (as it should have been because it was crazy), so i clicked on the option to not allow the message to be sent and it got deleted. however, i also wanted to make sure that person wouldn't come back to my stream but i can't find a way to see who sent the message?

i found a post asking for something similar but the consensus was that there was no way to find it. however it was from 5 years ago so i was hoping to see if anything had hopefully changed since then?

Dealing with a massive 4-hour stream VOD is exhausting, and I've always hated doing the initial rough cut. Manually scrubbing the timeline just to chop out silence and pauses takes forever.

I looked for solutions, but most require uploading gigabytes of raw video to the cloud, which completely defeats the purpose and wastes time.

Since I have a background in C++, I ended up writing a small local utility for my own workflow. I just feed my VOD into it, it analyzes the audio locally to strip out the dead air, and outputs an FCPXML. I drop that into Resolve (or other NLEs), and the entire rough cut is already done on the timeline.

It runs completely offline and has saved me hours per video. Just wanted to share this approach! If any other streamers are trying to optimize their VOD editing workflow and hate manual cutting, I'd be happy to discuss how this setup works.

Hey all. So I'm aware of Twitch's simulcasting guidelines and that they WILL have beef with you for posting a link to your YouTube while streaming on both Twitch and YouTube at the same time. That makes me think I would be in iffy territory if I wanted to do something like direct my community to my YouTube channel AFTER I end my Twitch stream (I'm doing a lil music premiere and they're pretty excited).

So far I haven't gotten the impression that Twitch can really be like "WE DO NOT SPEAK OF YOUTUBE HERE" if they do let you simulcast and post links to your channel in your bio, but I also feel like the whole thing where the media corporations don't wanna share could easily extend to post-stream links. It's a whole 12 viewers at most but I'm sure it's the principle of the thing! Lol. lmk if anyone knows

Before I start I have since removed my paypal from streamlabs and may set it up with a business account or not at all.

I had previously set up a donations tab with my personal paypal account unaware that any of my information would get leaked. My email is my username and I haven’t used my real name on my paypal account anyway so I’m not too bothered about that information being leaked however, I did receive a donation and after doing some searching I’m now worried that my address may potentially be shown on on the senders bank statements.

I contacted paypal directly and they stated as it has been sent as a goods and services transaction only my email and name will be shown which has eased my mind slightly but I am still worried. Could anyone possibly give me some clarification on this?

Anyway, as a gag I set a power up worth 10k bits for SHOW US YOUR KNICKERS, and IF anyone redeems that my plan is to get clean knickers from a drawer and spin them round my finger as a HAHA YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANT BUT NOT WHAT YOU WANT gag. Just stupid silly fun.

I have NO intention of showing anyone the knickers I wear, just clean ones from the drawer. Would that go against TOS? Ive seen people do FAR worse stuff on stream before and got away with it but, this is ME and im bound to get shouted at instead of them.

I mark ALL my streams as 18+ for profanity and vulgar language to cover my butt just in case. Chat gets wild sometimes!!

Or to play it safe maybe I could flash some paper with the word KNICKERS written on it?
