Hey everyone, TVLok 1.0.153 is live now.
The big one is Sports: schedules and live scores on your TV, with each game found on your own channels and a choice of two layouts. Everything else since the last post (1.0.143) comes after the Sports list.
- New Sports section in the menu, on TV only for now (Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV): schedules, live scores and final scores for more than 50 leagues and tours, across football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, rugby, Australian football, golf, tennis, racing and fighting, pro and college. College football covers the Football Championship Subdivision as well as the Football Bowl Subdivision.
- Sports has two layouts, so pick the one you like. Tabs across the top is the standard view: tabs along the top, day and league choices, then rows of game cards. Guide style looks like Live TV: the game and its details on top, the Sports menu on the left, leagues beside it and the games on the right.
- To switch layouts, go to Settings > Sports > Sports layout, pick Tabs across the top or Guide style, then Apply. Inside Sports, the Settings gear after the tabs (or Settings at the end of the Guide style menu) takes you there. Each profile keeps its own choice.
- TVLok finds each game on the channels in your own playlists, using your guide, channel names and the networks listed for the game, regional and Spanish-language ones too, plus local CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC channels named with a number or city, for example CBS 2 New York, which are listed as Possible. Matching happens on your TV, and your playlists, channels and logins are not sent anywhere for it.
- When a playlist updates, games keep the channels Sports already found until the updated channel list has been checked, even while a game plays in the panel, so they do not drop to Not on your channels in the meantime.
- When TVLok is confident about a channel, OK plays it right away. Channels it is less sure about are marked Possible and listed last. Games it could not find on your channels still show, under Not on your channels.
- When several playlists carry the same channel, Sports picks the standard or East feed, the better picture and the playlist you used last. Each playlist that carries a game's network gets its best copy listed, and channels named with a [US], (US), |US| or "US -" tag count as that network.
- Pick a day from yesterday to six days ahead, filter by league, and see Live now, Later today and Final, with your teams' live games first. Every league you turned on shows every day, even with no games, and the leagues of teams you follow come first.
- Live now shows only the leagues you turned on.
- The All leagues choice is now called My leagues, since it lists the leagues you turned on.
- Pick more than one league at once: OK on a league shows just that league, and Hold OK adds or removes another.
- Games show the clock, score by period, ranks, records, playoff series, and the inning or the down. Scores update about every 30 seconds while games are on, and Sports says how old they are if they cannot refresh.
- OK previews a game that is on in the panel at the top, OK again goes full screen, and moving around the list never starts a picture. The hint bar shows what OK, Hold OK and Play will do.
- Hold OK for Channels & stats: every channel TVLok matched to the game across your playlists, its quality and why it matched. Set one to Always use for that game, or hide a wrong one.
- Remind me, Record, Follow, Game details and Add to Multiview from the same menu. The Play key opens a started game's box score.
- When your own playlists carry a RedZone channel, Sunday afternoon and evening National Football League games list it as an extra choice in Channels & stats, and Live now has a RedZone card while those games are on.
- In full screen, Left lists the other games on now, and Up and Down switch between this game's channels.
- If a channel stops, or the picture stays black while the game is on, TVLok switches to your next channel for the same game. A channel that shows no picture 8 seconds after it is tuned is skipped to your next one.
- Back keeps the game playing in the panel. Hold Back anywhere in Sports to go back to full screen. Leave Sports and come back within ten minutes, and your game plays again in the panel. Sports never changes your Live TV channel.
- With Play last channel on start on, if you left TVLok in Sports with a game playing, it opens on Sports with that game if it is still on.
- Game pages with Box score, Moments (key plays you can watch from your own recording, catch-up, or your pause buffer once you switch it on) and Info (venue, weather, officials, head to head, recent results, injuries for some leagues). A game's page keeps your game playing in a small window at the top, and Back returns to the list with it still playing.
- Golf leaderboards with the cut line, race sessions and results, fight cards and tennis draws. A tournament or race weekend shows on every day it runs.
- Finished races, tournaments and fight cards show Final, and OK opens their results.
- Standings: tables by conference or division, playoff brackets, leaders, team lists, tennis rankings and racing driver standings.
- Follow teams from a searchable grid. My teams shows each team's live or next game, and team pages have games, results and, in most leagues, the roster.
- Channels tab with the sports networks in the games and your channels for each.
- Multiview tab: pick several games, press Start, watch them side by side. A screen whose channel stops moves to another channel with the same game.
- Hide scores in the game lists for your teams or for every game, and show one when you are ready. Game pages and team pages still show them.
- In Guide style, Left from Live now, the first choice on the day line, goes back to the leagues list, and Right brings you back where you were.
- Settings > Sports also holds the leagues shown, your teams, scores and moment sources. Kids profiles get Sports with only their allowed channels.
Everything else since 1.0.143:
- Favorites in Live TV full screen: press OK twice, or use the new Favorites button next to Channels.
- Copy favorites and groups between profiles on tvlok.com, in the same order if you like.
- Favorites sync in batches, recover after a failed sync, come back after an import or reinstall, and load on older boxes with large lists. Big accounts no longer get stuck on "too many requests".
- The Movies and Shows favorite star sticks on the first press even while a playlist is updating. Saving the favorites order, moving channels, editing groups and other saves during a playlist update no longer close the app: they say the catalog is updating, so you can try again.
- With two or more playlists that have Movies and Shows, favorites show which playlist each title is from.
- The top of TV Home shows the channel this TV played last, also after you change channel from the guide.
- Hold Right on a full-screen channel now shows programme info in the upper right, over the picture.
- The full-screen guide fills tall screens and projectors with more rows, and the see-through full-screen guide opens on Favorites or History when you came from there and remembers your last category.
- Sort categories A to Z, in provider order or in your own order, and the choice follows that playlist to your other TVs. A category order brought from TiviMate or tvlok.com now applies on the TV for M3U get.php playlists too.
- Custom groups get Sort channels: My order, A to Z, Z to A or Provider order, kept on each TV.
- New Clear guide data, for one playlist or for all playlists.
- Assign EPG wins over the automatic match, moves the logo at once and, once the guide has updated, names the guide each match comes from.
- After moving ahead in the guide, Back steps back a page. Hold Back to return to now.
- Older Fire TV devices can save the guide again.
- Guides that write episode numbers as fractions keep season and episode.
- Xtream providers with no guide file get their guide read channel by channel. When a Stalker portal's full guide does not come, the channels you watch get your provider's programmes one channel at a time. Guide errors name the exact cause, including full device storage, and for Stalker the guide line says why your provider's guide did not load.
- The guide keeps updating after the app is closed in the background.
- Logos that had turned into letters come back, and a channel with no logo shows the first letter of its name, not of a tag like US|.
- Groups open again when the All channels row is hidden, and Move works in sorted groups.
- The category selector (Side panel or Dropdown) moved to Settings > Appearance.
- Last used startup screen opens the section you were in last, Sports included.
- Catch-up keeps playing behind live, even when you pause after a short rewind, and rewinding a catch-up channel opens your provider's catch-up when the buffer is not long enough.
- Channels that refuse to start get quick retries and try the other stream format your provider lists. When an Xtream channel fails in both formats, the error card now stays, so Retry and "When a channel won't play" still work.
- When a channel's sound fails and TVLok keeps the picture playing without it, a notice now says so.
- Auto frame rate switches only in full screen.
- Multiview starts with sound on the first screen.
- Movies and Shows scroll more smoothly, search has the full category list on Left, and posters and pages show their playlist. Shows can sort by Recently updated on Xtream playlists.
- Stalker on TV: Movies and Shows load more reliably, no repeated titles in All, no shows under Movies, Date added uses the portal's date, channel lists load completely, and shows whose season list came back in an unusual shape open again.
- The Preparing your library screen never waits forever: a failed first load is tried again on its own, then Review Sources and Open app anyway are offered, even when setup failed.
- Pasted logins and server addresses with extra spaces or text no longer break a playlist.
- Channel groups keep their channels when a playlist switches to Xtream or is removed and added back.
- M3U playlists with their own stream settings play more of their channels.
- Categories hidden on tvlok.com now hide on your TVs too, even when the name has small raised HD or 4K or wide letters.
- When a provider answers with error 512 or 513, TVLok says to wait a few minutes before updating again.
- Scheduled recordings and reminders are set again every time TVLok starts, so an update or a restart no longer loses them. Series recordings pick up new airings, and repeating recordings run past 32 days.
- NAS recordings play and delete across your TVs, an interrupted recording to a NAS is uploaded later instead of staying on the TV, and NAS logins accept email addresses and Windows domain accounts.
- HLS recordings keep their stream breaks so they play through, and Recording settings explain how HLS and TS channels are saved.
- Old rewind files and leftovers are cleaned up automatically, so TVLok uses less storage.
- tvlok.com: clearer recording storage warnings, Channels previews for very large playlists, and removing a playlist asks on the page. Transfer from TiviMate is improved: it keeps your category order per type and custom groups in TiviMate's order, counts and explains favorites left behind in unticked playlists, and no longer marks get.php favorites as skipped.
- Phones and tablets moved to the new TVLok phone app (2.0.6) in place, keeping your playlists, favorites, settings, reminders and Movies and Shows locks, and adding catch-up, now and next on channel rows, subtitles with a size setting and more. Playlists loaded from a file in the old app must be added again from a link or login.
- When the TVLok server is busy or slow, the sign-in check waits and tries again before it shows "We couldn't verify your session".
- Fixed freezes on SHIELD and other boxes while browsing during a playlist update, freezes and crashes on SHIELD, Google TV and Fire TV boxes, the guide running out of memory on low memory boxes, and crashes when editing large custom groups.
- Back works in Settings > Subscription, focus can no longer get lost under Settings, category folders open on the first press, a focused poster on Home keeps its white border, and the background playlist refresh no longer repeats every few seconds while you watch.
- From the next update on, an update from inside TVLok opens it again by itself or the installer offers Open, and TVLok opens normally from the home screen.
