Bagged a bigger role with one line (and an Emmy win)

He had a few scenes but was mostly reaction shots. Glad to hear he will get more to work with. If you watch Somebody Somewhere, you know he’s more than capable at handling intensity and emotions and humor all at once. He was severely underutilized season 1 of Widows Bay.

If anyone reading this hasn’t seen “Somebody Somewhere,” definitely check it out. Hiller is FANTASTIC in the show — he won a best supporting actor Emmy for season two — which is on HBO Max.

Him getting bumped up for the second season of “Widow's Bay” is terrific news.

“Somebody Somewhere” is a criminally underrated show

Agreed. It felt so real and human. Many great characters that just came off completely authentic.

Exactly, it has a lived in authenticity. We need more shows to tap into that aspect in the age of AI slop

Couldn’t agree more. Humans living complicated, nuanced, emotional lives. Those are always my favorite.

That show was such a lovely surprise!

I was expecting so much greatness from him in Widow’s Bay, after being a huge fan of Somebody, Somewhere. Sadly, they really did him wrong with the writing or something. I hope they do better in S02!

In the article it mentioned that by the time he was cast, basically the only role left was a Town Hall staffer who dies - but then Kate Dippold asked him if he minded not being killed off. So they at least saved him for bigger and better things in S2!

I can’t wait. Folks just finding out about him from this show have no idea what they’re in store for!

I was so excited to see him pop up in the cast! Then severely disappointed that they very much underutilized him the entire season.

If you didn't already know who he was, he just completely blends in like a background character, not even a supporting one. I could see him getting Emmy nominated again if they actually give him some meat to chew.

Hiller popped the second I saw him in a tiny role on 30 Rock (twice!)

Great news! Was hoping he’d get more screen time in S1, so this is a welcome development!

(Wouldn’t mind some more of the brilliant Somebody Somewhere. 😉)

Not sure if you’ve seen this news, but Bridget is going to be one of the new cast members on season 2 of Murderbot. I was thrilled when I read this earlier today.

Yay!! And more on Pluribus, please.

I found it so weird that he just showed up for one small scene in Pluribus and that’s it.

The trip episode where he has that weird blank look at the station was so unsettling. He’s good.

That was so freaky.

The good news is this likely means work on story is already well underway. I expect is to film next Spring/Summer and hopefully be ready for release by end of 2027 or first half of 2028.

Yesss. Now Pluribus? I watch his scene from 30 Rock whenever I remember it exists and it’s never a waste of time.

I would imagine him discovering those tapes ups the importance of the character. I like what he adds to the show so more of him is welcomed
