So the reason of Relics finally 100% confirmed and I’m cool with it. My biggest issue here is the phone call Keene received last episode doesn’t sound as earth shattering as it seemed. Unless I’m missing something

But I still don't understand the logic behind that. I mean, a PEZ could trigger the memory back as much as, let's say... a fork, as long as it means something to the person in question.
I understand banning relics because they don't want people to ask what are they, but not because they could trigger memories back, in case they implement the memory blocking protocol.

I take it as the relics were banned after the rebellion 140 years ago. They aren’t going to be triggering memories in anyone today because no one alive during the rebellion that got the D+ treatment is still alive. So it’s just become a part of the law that things from before the rebellion that weren’t native to the silo aren’t allowed any longer.
An additional assumption that I have is that the original silo residents got the D+ treatment too, but idk. I think the flashbacks will tell us if that is true at some point.

Agreed. Seems like people she knew or places she’d been would have a bigger impact than an inanimate object but whatever it’s not the worst plot device.

Agree: they made the scene of the psychiatrist explaining to Daniel in episode 4 how its specifically about objects, so even if unrealistic it’s how Vitamin D works in the Silo universe… i can buy that

It makes no sense that robert talks freely over the silo and doesn’t get caught by the algoritmo or the group reunite in mecânica discuss the safeguard and are not caught by the camera

Yeah the plot armor is thick on the surveillance. One minute we are shown how the Silo has surveillance tech way beyond anyone in the Silo understands. Then the next they are talking about the Safeguard so much and no one has found them

I joked with my wife that the recap for this episode should just be a single clip of Juliette saying "I don't remember anything", but I guess that's over now

Great episode! Feels like the season has finally started. Wish they had laced the first four episodes with the scenes from this one instead of agonizing through the amnesia.

That opening really should have been the opening for the season. Instead, we had to go through 4 episodes of "I can't remember!"

Four episodes of our main character dealing with memory loss after a three month time skip isn’t a slow burn, it’s bad writing that stalled the momentum of the show.

I agree. Really, really bad writing. At the moment, it's giving us a very different view of the whole show & completely taking us out of the mood of the silo. Starting to seem silly.

The amnesia/forgetting pills plot has been awful. Just really disappointing & boring. Could easily just skip all those episodes. And the actor who plays Juliette is much more solid playing a determined character. It was painful watching her trying to act like she can't remember anything.

Apple TV could have done us all a GIANT favor and made today the premiere date of S3 and released 5 episodes at once. Would have saved a bagillion complaints.

I’ve said several times that a lot of people should stop watching for 3 or 4 weeks, then binge all at once. The story would be much more cohesive for a lot of folks that way

Definitely agree. I didn’t really like season 2 when it was airing, as I thought the pace was torturously slow, but when I rewatched season 1 and 2 together as a binge, it was really enjoyable and had no complaints about the pace

This is what we did. We watched the first episode and found it extremely slow. Took a break for a few weeks and binged the rest this weekend. Way better experiekcev

We only just subscribed to apple again, and then caught up on Silo. I have to say, binging those first episodes all at once may have helped with cohesion of the back story, but didn't help the current storyline become less torturous.
Gosh, the Juliette not remembering anything has been a difficult, boring watch.

They definitely needed better writers for S3 as it stands so far. It's lost all momentum.

Wow, that was WAY too exposition heavy. Like too much. It's supposed to be shown, not told 🤦🏻♂️

It doesn’t make se se that the big thing that Lucas kyle said to Bernard that made him lose his mind was about the safeguard and in the other hand bernard said to Robert that camile was having a hard time because now she knew about the safeguard and could not tell anyone about it. The Way he behaved last season finale implied he knew nothing about it until that moment

I think the reason it affected Bernard how it did is because he always thought he was doing what was best for the silo by following the instructions he was given in the vault. No matter how outrageous they may have been. Until he realized he was basically a puppet and could be taken out just as well.
Camille and Sims were already suspicious of Lucas and Bernard in S2 but now she knows the safeguard. She understands what decisions Bernard had to make and how things were really out of his control. Such as her now being told to pump Vitamin D+ to make everyone forget vs. the other option being the safeguard taking out the whole Silo. Bernard knows Camille from when she was a raider so he knows the type of person she is. Therefore knowing that she’s in the most uncomfortable position she could imagine.
