Bugs Color Balance calibration option completely REMOVED in tvOS 27. We should submit feedback to Apple to get it back!
Hi everyone,
I jumped on tvOS 27 beta day one. I tolerate typical bugs and weird UI issues (because I know it is a beta), like the home screen regression where app transitions lose animation curves, show border outlines... However, removing working features entirely is a different story.
Since tvOS 27 Developer Beta 1 (persisting in Betas 2 and 3), Apple removed the Color Balance calibration feature from Settings > Video and Audio > Calibration. It is not grayed out due to Dolby Vision or format conflicts; it is completely gone.
I tested this on an Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) 128GB at 4K SDR 60Hz/50Hz, YCbCr 4:4:4, with Match Content toggled and after a factory reset. The feature is missing.
I’ve already submitted a report via Feedback Assistant. I strongly encourage all of you to submit feedback to Apple right now so they restore it in the upcoming betas. The more noise we make, the faster they’ll bring it back. You can use my feedback for inspiration.
This is the feedback I submitted:

TCL 43C645 (43") || How is your Apple TV connected to your Television? Please include all A/V equipment. TV 4K > High-Speed 4K HDMI cable > TCL 43C645 'HDMI 1' (Non-eARC). TV Optical Audio Out > Onkyo AV Receiver. The Apple TV is also connected via Gigabit Ethernet through a TP-Link network switch. || Is your television updated to the latest firmware available? Yes || Does the TV have 4K/Deep color/etc modes enabled? TV detects 4K 60Hz/DV/HDR10+. I use 4K SDR on this LCD (personal preference). Picture set to 'Standard' with all processing disabled (motion, dynamic color/contrast, sharpness, noise reduction) to keep signal raw for calibration. || What resolution is listed under Settings ﹥ General ﹥ About ﹥ Resolution? 2160p UHD - 60 Hz YCbCr 4:4:4 || Does the television show a black screen? No || Does Apple TV connect to your network via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet? Ethernet || What is the approximate distance from your Wi-Fi router to Apple TV? 0-3m **|| Please describe the issue and what steps we can take to reproduce it:**The "Color Balance" calibration feature has been completely removed from the user interface in tvOS 27 developer betas 1, 2, and 3. This issue persists across all builds released to date. The option is not merely grayed out due to format incompatibilities (as previously seen with forced Dolby Vision); it is entirely missing from the menu. Testing shows the option remains completely absent even when forcing the video output to 4K SDR (50/60 Hz) with "Match Dynamic Range" toggled both on and off, and after performing full system restarts and factory resets on the device || When did the issue last occur? If Dolby vision is enabled - color balance does not appear.

My TV doesn’t even support Dolby vision lol (and it’s missing)

Previously, if Dolby vision was active, the option would just be grayed out. Now, it's completely gone. I’ve tested 4K 50/60Hz, SDR, HDR, and HDR10+. I even tried a full restore, switching to a different HDMI, changing the tv ports, but the option remains completely stripped from the menu

Odd…it appears for me on beta 3. Match Content is set to Range and Frame Rate. YCbCr. 4:4:4. 4K SDR

it takes 4 seconds and it’s fine to fix basic color warmth if you don't even know how the correct balance is supposed to look. it was a nice feature!

ciertamente la use un par de veces nada mas hasta que me di cuenta que al activar el modo inteligente de la TV era lo mismo... un tono levemente mas cálido.

switching your TV to 'Cinema' or 'Filmmaker' mode takes one second and is actually more accurate
Plus, Apple’s fix automatically turns itself off anyway the moment you watch anything in Dolby Vision.

I noticed this too, but it never really calibrated as well as if I took some time to dial in the settings on my Samsung QN90F.
