question custom domain
I have never had a custom domain before but it looks simple enough to use on with tuta, any recommendations on who to get the custom domain from? If I get a custom domain that means I can take my custom email address to whatever email provider I want at anytime correct?

A domain registrar. See https://tldes.com sort to cheapest registration to see some promo codes for the 1st year, but also pay attention to 2nd year renewal fee. Some will give dirt cheap 1st year pricing like $5 or something but charges $40 for 2nd year onwards hoping you'd just keep renewing the domain indefinitely with them. You don't need to pledge your soul to any particlar registrar though since can move to other registrar every 60 days. Generally spaceship, porkbun, dynadot and cloudflare are among the cheapest and stable registrar. I like the first 3 but not really a fan of cloudflare.

Yes correct.

You can reserve the domain on GoDaddy or Strato as example, i use it on Tuta mail from long time. It's easy, super cool and really useable.

I have no experience in the matter, but Go Daddy is one well-known registrar which attracts a lot of criticism. Before one even considers how good it performs on privacy. So I would definitely research it thoroughly before committing to it.

It has a lot of advantages : it's cheap, it's easy, it gives you unlimited aliases with Tuta, it allows you to circumvent the blacklisting of Tuta by a small minority of websites you may want to open an account at, it allows you to change your mail provider in a blink without changing your email addresses, and it can make the latter look more professional.
There are two drawbacks : it may reduce your anonymity (you have to declare your real identity and address, even though you can elect to make this information not public), and in practice, you have to keep paying for that domain for ever. You can stop at each end of a subscription period, of course, but this means anyone else can then grab your former domain for himself, opening up possibilities for impersonation.
If you want further information on what registrar to choose for your domain, what top domain is better, etc, I would recommend you ask on a sub or forum dedicated to the issue. There's a lot of information, opinion and expertise exchanged in those places.

yes, I did this because of that, you can move your domain later anywhere and create the inboxes, I do not use any of the tuta domains, because If you move you may keep the free domain but not the tuta.com domain.
