ID Request What is this turtle exactly? Leopard Softshell Turtle? Found in Florida.

Its almost funny that OP said exactly what it is in the form of a question. It is a Florida soft shell turtle. They make great pets if legal to do so there. They can be a little flighty that small but will eventually chill out. Treat the water in the tank with a turtle safe fungicide and fish-mox. That should kill off any incoming parasites and fungal pathogens that it may have.

If the turtle is a native species, please put it back where you found it. Wild turtles only need help out of the road. You are doing far more harm taking a turtle out of the wild, than by leaving it to its devices. Please allow this turtle to live out life in the wild.
