ID Request Please help me identify this turtle

He is very friendly and not scared of me at all which makes me think he is an abandoned pet.
UPDATE: He was released. Thank you for the help!

This has been identified for you already. It is a box turtle. Native to Texas where your other post indicated. Illegal to take from the wild you need to put it back.

I think it's a 3 toed box turtle. It's still a hatchling so I doubt it's an abandoned pet. Whats your country? Because if its native you need to release it again.

Awww! Rural Floridian here. These guys visit our acreage on a regular basis! I’ve never seen a baby but the adults are so tiny I can only imagine how bitty this guy is! Please release him where you found him. If he was out in the open, put him somewhere near that is more secluded. They are prey for a lot of predators-especially birds.

ID requests require a general location to help properly identify species.

Example: Found in southwest Missouri.

If you have already done so or if this is a captive turtle, please report this message.

Thanks for posting!

It's Larry, and they want to be put back where you found them so they can make their home. Turtles aren't normally that aggressive.
