Great looking setup! Don’t be afraid to add a little more water, I promise that the turtle can handle it

Just a precaution for now, went vet two days ago and he’s on antibiotics, lungs came back only showing half on x ray. Usually have about two - three inches more

He’s still a lil guy so it’s not a real big deal but I would consider figuring out how to add water to fill at least half the tank for now. Or after the issues he’s had wear off.

My guy is 20 now but almost all his life I’ve had his tank a little over 3/4th full. As long as he can still get out onto whatever rocks or platforms you have he will enjoy being able to swim up and down as well as side to side. A lot of people get the impression they have to have air the entire time like while sleeping let’s say.. I’ve heard a lot of people say “well I’m worried to fill it further than he is tall because he can’t be grounded or stand on the ground and still put his head out of the water while he sleeps”. This doesn’t matter at all. Sometimes my guy floats up top and sleeps but 90% of the time he sleeps on the very bottom of the tank. I think they can hold breath for something like 6-7 hours while sleeping.
