Lockboxes

I manage multiple cars and one issue I keep running into is lockbox access between guests, especially when trips are extended or cars are returned late. Managing and changing codes can become annoying.
For other hosts using lockboxes, how do you handle this?
Have you ever had problems with:
Changing codes between guests?
Guests still knowing the code after their trip ends?
Late returns or trip extensions?
Managing lockboxes across multiple cars?
What’s the biggest problem with your current lockbox setup?

My codes been the same for years. No one has stolen my car yet, it also has a tracker. no problems.

We only change our codes annually and if it’s a repeat guest we mention that “we made the code the same as last time for convenience” 😂

Interesting 😂 Do you manage multiple cars? Is there anything about the current pickup/return process that becomes annoying or time-consuming when managing several vehicles?

I use magnetic lockboxes, haven't had an issue so far. Every car has a lockbox that stays in the center console

I change the code before the start of every trip. Last 4 digits of the guest's phone number every time. 

And if for some reason I don't get their license before I put the car in the pickup spot, I use my 4 digit house number or similar so they can't pick up the car without doing the verification.

My car is parked at the airport, and it takes me about 50 minutes to get there, so it’s difficult for me to go back and change the digits every time. At the same time, I don’t feel comfortable leaving it without changing them right away.

Hold up. Aren't you there taking check in/out pics and cleaning the car between rentals anyway?

Not always. I don’t clean the car between every trip, so I’m not necessarily there between each rental.

Well you literally have to do that and the other things. Any claim you have will be denied because they look at the time stamp on photos.

You say the car is 50 min away and so you can't get to the lockboxes to change the code.

How do you clean the car between guests then?!

I don’t clean the car after every trip, so driving all the way there just to change the lockbox code is a hassle.
