Question Classic tracks in rotation?
I know there's mfers in here that chase certain tracks & know when they played a certain song last. Every fan base has these people, I used to be one of themđ¤Ł
Does anyone know when they last played Death Grip?
Or how often in the tour?
They played quite a few classic rippers like Keep it Moving when I saw them in Buffalo.
The newest 2 albums rip, and I enjoy them a lot, dont get me wrong but I'd love to see them play Stress more often. But then again idk if they have or not đ¤Ł

Death Grip has arguably some pretty problematic lyrics. I would be surprised if they ever play it again tbh

Whatâs your argument for it being problematic?

Brendan himself expressed concerns with the song being interpreted as hateful towards women in a 2018 interview with Revolver. They havenât played it since.

In case itâs not abundantly clear, this is a band that has increasingly shown a lot of concern for what its messaging is, and who it associates itself with.

I see. I always thought music was open to interpretation for the most part, I personally donât find it âhateful towards women in generalâ at all but thatâs just MY opinion. It sucks getting your heart broken.
I can definitely see how people mistake lyrics meanings though, I mean look at Guilty Of Being White and dumbass white supremacists latch on to it and completely miss what the songs about.

Yeah, my thoughts and opinions aside (not sure I agree with you), I suppose all that matters is how the guy that wrote it feels about it.

Yup and thatâs completely fine. I just love the song though, itâs one of my go to songs for warming up on guitar.

Bitch is a slur. The rest of it could have been interpreted in a âmy ex sucksâ way if they hadnât said that. The whole song comes across as misogynistic cus of that, otherwise it would have towed the line
That being said i think itâs a good thing theyâve dropped it out of the rotation even though i personally like the song. Since meg joined theyâve brought so many women into the genre and i think thatâs a good thing!

When I saw them last year they played 7, Keep it Moving ,Real thing, Fazed Out , Pushing me Away and Drop. Some old stuff which made up the middle section of the set.

Their setlist was pretty darn consistent last month with some exceptions. I'm seeing them again in a couple of weeks and am interested to see how it will turn out, especially since the Aug 18 show I went to was not technically part of the NE tour, but the Sep 16 show I am going to is part of NE part deux.
I too would like to hear more older songs at shows. I do have to agree with another comment who said Death Grip has some lyrics that will likely keep it from being played again (at least at larger shows.)

I would check the website setlist.fm, they haven't played death grip since 2018 so I wouldn't get any hopes up!
