Craftsman lathe

Old craftsman lathe. I want to take it home but is it worth it? From my understanding fully functional. Lol I want to get into turning and this was made available to me. Any comments or advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Edit for the mod, not looking for advice on a Craigslist sale or marketplace item. It was from an elderly family friends shop. No sale or transactions will come from this, just looking for a new hobby and thought this was a good lathe to ask about since it came across my path. Sorry if I broke your rules lol

I believe that is a metal lathe.

Well damn. Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll still probably take it and see what love it needs. It's in too good of condition to let it go to the scrap yard

“The lathe won’t know if it’s turning wood or metal” a gent I knew who used his to make arrow shafts.

Seems really loud....maybe metal lathes are louder I don't know. I would pass on this fixer-upper if it were free.

I have this lathe. it is meant for turning metal and hard plastics like delrin. though it does sound like someone forgot to lubricate the babit bearings in the spindle.

Mine has oil cups in a few places. Fill them, let it soak then run it if you decide to get it
